Lonzo's played 27 games this year. The Pels are a negligible 1-2 without Lonzo.

When Lonzo shoots > 42% from 3 this year, the Pels are 8-3.
When Lonzo shoots < 42% from 3 this year, the Pels are 4-12.

This season really is that black and white. If the Pels are gonna do shite, Lonzo has to be stroking it from deep. He is the X Factor the Pels need to leap back into playoff contention. Godspeed he does...

Lonzo has been driving more and getting feet in the paint and kicking or scoring which is what a guard his size should be able to do. The biggest difference I noticed is he is getting squared up and set up for his shots. It’s a lot less of him dribbling and setting up his own shots and shooting off balance

I said it in another thread but we are in a bit of a lose lose with Zo.

He plays great, we don’t trade him, we can’t resign him because Rich Paul will make sure of that. He will help whatever team signs him to an offer sheet with the poison pill.

He plays poor we lose games and we can’t get value in a trade, and then we don’t know what to do with him this offseason.

The Lonzo solution:

Give him a 4/60 extension, then just put a note in his locker everyday reminding him we will trade him if he doesn't play.

Call his alter ego Trade Block Lonzo

this, it’s the curse of the small market teams. I say we strike now while his value is up

That’s a really interesting take and something I hadn’t thought about at all... and it sucks!

Or he plays great and we trade him for good value. That’s a win

If he plays great, then Griffin can’t trade him. How would that look in the lockerroom to his team?

Guess it depends who we get back...
If he’s part of a trade for a star, then it’s justifiable.

If we get like for like back then... meh.

It almost makes a big trade in the offseason even more imperative. You could do a S&T with Lonzo to a 3rd team as part of the outgoing salary for Beal or Lavine or someone else.

His win/loss splits

In 9 wins:

16.8 PTS, 48% FG, 47% 3PT

In 10 losses:

10.4 PTS, 36% FG, 26% 3PT

ETA:

Another interesting win/loss stat

BI’s 3PT shooting:

In wins: 48%

In losses: 31%

I don't agree. I think that Griffin and Rich Paul have already had a frank conversation. I think that Lonzo doesn't especially want to be back on this team next year. I think that Griffin doesn't think that Lonzo is a very good fit with Zion and BI.

So, I think that Lonzo gets traded. Plain and simple. With the team playing well, I see him getting traded for who can also help the team win this year, like a quality big such as Markannen.

Who cares? The only two guys that matter are locked up.

Just explain they’re a young team and we’re getting assets to make them a contender.

Why is Ball some untouchable figure? They traded jrue with no issues. What’s the difference?

If we're in playoff contention and we trade him for scraps and picks, it would look crummy, which is why Griff won't do it. But if we trade him for someone else who helps the team win this year, I'm sure that the locker room would approve.

Then who fills the hole left by the team's best perimeter defender? I think this team figuring things out a bit makes Oubre a better fit than Markannen. You can replace Lonzo's 3s easily enough, it's harder to replace his defense.

What about getting someone like Otto Porter or Harrison Barnes?

Either of those work which might be part of why we've been hearing Chicago. Was it you that put up that 4 way yesterday with the Bulls, Celtics and Kings? I thought those were pretty decent lateral moves for everyone if Boston sent the Pels a lottery protected 1st.

So, you're telling me if you make threes at a good clip, you have a good chance to win?

It appears that way, doesn’t it?
