What would be a good trade for him at the trade deadline this year?

Moore/Miller/Frank/Kenrich/protected 1st

Would you pull the trigger? What would it take?

He just makes too much money for too many years for me.

He'd have to do a lot more than just be healthy to justify that trade.

He's getting paid like he is coming off his last season in Minnesota where he went 26, 12.5, 4.4, he'd need to come close to that to justify that trade for me.

If he's just the 16 to 19 and 10 guy he's been the last few seasons, hell no.

I could see him and redick being the first two guys off the bench, assuming the starting lineup gels the way I expect.

Exactly, we don't want to be stuck with some huge contract! Now if the price is right and the Cavs eat a lot of his contract, we could consider, but as someone just said, who is going to sit?

This. Now that we have Favors there’s less room for a massive contract big. Plus I like the solidification of the team’s identity around defense that comes with Favors and wouldn’t come with Love.

We also need to see what Melli can bring. He might be all the stretch big off the bench that we need.

Who is he replacing in the starting lineup because that’s way too much money to be coming off the bench.

Yea he has to start. Doesnt make sense for 4yr/120 to come off the bench.

I don't want Love. I like the way the team is constructed right now. I don't think we need any tinkering yet, well not toward the top end of the roster. Maybe some fringe tinkering is fine.

The contract is the issue. Pelicans didn't want to put longterm money on their books. They didn't get far with Horford because of it. So they aren't going to give up assets for an inferior player on that same type of deal.

Thing to keep in mind with most (not necessarily all) trade targets is the contract. Zion, Hayes, NAW will all be up for those rookie extension at the same time. When those kick in the Pels will likely not have cap space again.

So, if you want to make a big move in FA you need to do it BEFORE those extension kick in. So free agency before the start of their 4th year which is the last time they'll have cap space. Love's contract basically prevents that. Not worth it.

No to Love. I'd like a trade like E'Twaun for Meyers Leonard or Kelly Olynyk.
