Nance was definitely questioning the ability(or desire) of our other guys to box out and rebound. That’s partially in part to us not having a PF for some damn reason, and the rest because, well, nothing good. It’s definitely hurting our ability to even try to contest at the rim. Overall we have effort issues which I really didn’t think we would be saying with this group.
I still don’t really understand why we have all but abandoned the dual big lineups that were a big part of papering over our rebounding/rim protection defecincies last season?
I mean as Nance said, we can’t shoot, and no matter what you got guys occupying a lot of the same space in the mid range, so why not use that knowledge and inevitable issue of the roster to at least occasionally rotate into the lineup a JV/Nance or JV/Jax or Nance/Jax that can best almost any team with size and use the PF as a free safety to help clean up interior issues and have less ground to cover in close outs to three?
Not saying it’s a panacea, but we know it works and we just….aren’t utilizing it

Don’t go for blocks because we have undersized wings at the other front court positions. Did Nance just dry snitch?

Thanks for the link. Larry Nance, Jr. is a really good guy. That showed a lot of patience with all of the long-winded questions. He tried to answer everything as honestly as someone in his position as a player can be.
I have never heard of Chris Connor or his pod. I think a format change where all questions are taken by email, but only read by host to Larry so all of the wasted time was deleted.
Very interesting Q&A. Love me some Larry.

They generally do Spaces right after games, so it's live and on the fly so that's not possible, which is probably why they just keep that same format.
But I do agree, if you get a guy like Nance on, that may have been a good way to get the most out of him, but at the same time, there's probably something to having the more direction fan interaction.

Hard to not like Nance. I thought he did a really good job with the questions. It’s funny to hear fans try to point out things the team is obviously aware of like the one guy that was talking about us not rebounding and transition defense. Nothing wrong with the questions it’s just that I’m sure they’re aware of where they may struggle or have deficiencies in certain areas. They’re in games, practices and film sessions along with multiple forms of analytics. I agree that it would run more smoothly if one person had the questions beforehand and maybe even send the questions to the players so they can put some thought into them. But I kind of like that Nance gave spontaneous answers.

The format is this way because it's not a podcast. It's a live, interactive audio stream on Twitter called Twitter Spaces. It's basically Internet talk radio. He does a lot of post game Spaces.

When we(myself included) are on Pels Talk saying we should do something and Willie is missing it, or when we do make that change and we say things like, "Finally, I was calling for this 2 months ago)...probably 99.99% the staff saw that thing and knew that thing wayyyyyy before we did, but there are factors that we just don't realize and just can't see that are keeping them from doing that thing like we want.

It's not like the host was any better. That dude likes to hear himself talk. I'd rather Larry just read the questions off a damn piece of paper than hear that dude blather about.

mean you can read into what he said that way I guess. I don't think he was dogging Jonas as much as just stating the fact that he's the only rim protector on the team and the other guys are not used to playing with someone challenging shots.
I think this is part of why Jonas doesn’t look as good as he did last year. Everytime a shot goes up i see 2-3 defenders draped all over him that he’s trying to fight to get the rebound and put back up.
If we were better at boxing out and giving Jonas space to work the rim, he would look all star level imo.
