Would Detroit even do that without us throwing in a future pick? I seriously doubt it
I think it would be one of ivey or Duren. Not both. Detroits gonna be desperate tho

Yes, the last thing they want is another 20 year old drafted high on their roster, and they know with BI they can at least get in the 30-40 win range.

They can do that without costing themselves future assets, and they won’t find a better player in free agency to use all that cap space on

You cant just go to another team and say hey I want luka- now take all this stuff and give me luka. Trades dont work like this. You need to see the market, whats available, what other teams are looking for, how interested is the player coming to your team, fit, etc

No shite.

There are "getable" guys that are going to cost us. Players that teams may not want to trade or will only trade for the "best offer".

We have to be willing to be the team with the "best offer" for once. Ever.

Adding (2) picks to a trade for the best fit/ best chance to win vs sending Ingram to a team who wants him for the best "value" we can get for him.

Lol so your philosophy is just go to people and throw all our assets at them and they’ll give us their superstar? You cany force people to trade guys they dont want to trade. Im not understanding your criticism of what Griff is doing here. I agree sometimes he should overpay a little but no GM operates the way you’re saying. Thats not what competent gms do.

What??? Lolololol

Competent teams/ GMs do this every year. They are quite literally the teams we lose to in these trade talks.

And they do it the way we need to. "Oh this didn't work, frick it we need ___, lets get them".

That's what competent teams do every year....

You know what competent teams DON'T do every year? Tell bullshite to your face, make minimum changes, and accept mediocrity.

Presti is going to turn some of those picks and guys like Williams or Dort into superstar running mates for SGA.

I don't think he's stupid, if they trade anyone it's going to be Giddey because he doesn't really fit.

I don't see them trading JDub or Dort.

All gms tell bullshite to your face. You’re going off on Griffin and its a day after the season ended. I agree Griffin deserves criticism but not because he doesn’t approach trades the way you want him to approach it. Which honestly I don’t know a gm that operates the way you want then do. If you do tell me some gms you want Griffin to trade like?

What are you basing this off of? You are just literally making up things. Again give me examples of situations where this has happened? Where we lost so called trades to?

Everyone "EXPECTS" them to be aggressive in trade market due to team situation, future draft picks, young talent roster, etc.

But will they be....is the question

They also expect it because of Griffins comments about HAVING to get better and the big 3 not working together

I will NOT post anything to support this claim.

If you truly think we have been "aggressive" in trade talks the last decade and also think that teams competing for championships have not been more aggressive the last decade then this convo is a lost cause.

Meh I'll bite...

How many mid season trades have we made in the last decade?

How many midseason trades besides desperately trading for CJ have we made?

How many teams BETTER than us make mid season trades every year to get BETTER?

You wont post anything because you don’t have anything to back this up.

Define more aggressive? What exactly are you expecting Griffin to do? What crazy aggressive trade have the nuggets made?

Do you want Griffin to be aggressive like suns and lakers? How did that work out?

You essentially defending our ORG on this just shows why so many of our fans deserve the mediocricy.

So we’re just going to exclude CJ midseason trade like it doesn’t count?

Last decade? Griffin has been here 5 years?

How many midseason trades have nuggets, thunder and wolves made that ultra aggressive this year? In fact how many contenders made ultra aggressive midseason trades this year?

Before asking me those questions- ask these questions to yourself? What a contending team this year other than Dallas made a major midseason trade?

No way they are trading Jalen Williams. Dude might not be a superstar given he's playing with SGA and Chet, but he is a guy that every team in the NBA would give up a decent amount for. They'd be idiotic to let go of him.

Lol i criticize this team a lot. Im not defending them. I just think your logic in criticizing them is not right.

Meanwhile you get upset when people say Jalen Williams is a better draft pick than Dyson. Which he was. Theres no reason to be like thats not accurate statement.

Well in that case I’m pretty glad he’s indecisive. People were wanting to move Zion for him last offseason,

The assets that Griff wasted in 5 years could have been used to get their team closer to a contender.
