Yeah it definitely doesn’t get that high. It MAY get you 8 but I still kind of doubt that. I could see it more likely we have to send 13, 14, 30 while keeping 26 to move up to maybe 8. Picks just aren’t that valuable in the same draft, especially one like this.

Kemba is good. But I’ve just never been a huge fan. He does, admittedly give us a player we need, a guard than score off the dribble and get to the rack.

I went look on the RealGM Celtics board and they think it's more likely Hayward on the move, but it doesn't seem like they'd be too upset if it was Kemba or Smart either.

I'd love to get Smart, but I don't know if Boston would make him available. However if they bring in Jrue then he and Smart may be a little redundant.

Good. This will help drive the price up for Jrue.

There's no rush to trade him before the draft unless they are absolutely in love with a guy they are sure they can move up to get. Pels may get better offer at the trade deadline.

Just worked this up, and think it would be good for everyone, going off the rumors of Clippers wanting a PG, Charlotte wanting Westbrook, and Boston involved with Jrue.

LAC: Kemba

Boston: Jrue, Lou Will, Zubac, 2 2nds from Pels

NOP: Pat Beverly, Robert Covington, #3, #26

Houston: Batum, #13, 2nd rounder from Pels

Char: Westbrook, #14

Seems pretty close to everyone giving up and getting back fair value, but definitely alot of moving pieces, but they all fit together.

I would put the odds of a 5 teamer occurring at roughly zero

I believe they will have some pretty complicated trades happen. There's alot of big salary players rumored to be on the move. 5 team? Not likely, but possible. It has happened before

tradenba has it as 4 years, but yeah it's 3. and i'm just going to go ahead and pencil in that he's opting into his $37M final year. That's a no brainer.

Overall I like it, but I think Charlotte needs a significant extra piece. Why would Houston get involved in this bigger deal if Charlotte was willing to flip #3 for Westbrook? They could just do Westbrook and a future 1st for Batum and #3. This trade essentially has Houston using #3 and Covington to get back #13 and a 2nd. And that's assuming Charlotte gives up #3 for Westbrook in the first place which seems crazy.

Way too many moving parts. Would be difficult to achieve.

Thinking about this more, Kemba IS the best player we could get in a Jrue trade with a lottery pick attached as well. If they can get in the 8ish range plus Kemba for Jrue that is one of the better deals.

I guess my initial reaction was based on I wanted young players not a vet with like 100 million left on their deal.

I know a majority of the media guys have Westbrook as some huge trade, but I don't think Charlotte would do 3 for Westbrook straight up, and Houston doesn't have a 1st to send back to Charlotte until 2026 or 27 from their previous trades, so Charlotte would basically just be moving back 10 spots and getting Westbrook in return. If anyone, I could see Houston wanting another piece or pick.

One of the leaks said flat out that Charlotte wanted Houston to attach assets to Westbrook (which they don't have), in order to send back essentially expiring deals. In other words Westbrook has negative value.

Very difficult, but alot of the pieces moving are all rumored to be moved/wanted, so it COULD be achieved.

I would definitely not want to take on Kemba though, and someone defensive heavy like LAC would be a good fit for him, so they made sense.

Also, don't see Charlotte giving #3 for Westbrook, and I don't see Houston trading him and not getting at least a 1st this year, so makes sense for them to be involved. With so many star players rumored to be moving, we could end up seeing some overly complicated trades.

Nick Wright today had some:

CJ McCollum and Collins

Buddy Hield and a 1st

Love and Osmen

Brogdon and Turner

And that's not even the most ridiculous I've seen.

I wouldn't say that, it's similar to the Hayward option this year. If he can opt out and get more guaranteed money over a longer period of time, it's possible he does that.

Hmmm

The #Celtics and #Pacers have discussed the framework of a Myles Turner for Gordon Hayward swap. Other pieces would be included. Something to keep a close eye on.

Would both make sense for Boston on it's own, but also as part of a larger deal involving us.

What doesn't make sense is Indiana. As they are already on the cusp of their most expensive team in history, into the luxury tax, and would be adding another injury-prone high contract player.

It could possibly signal that Oladipo is on the move.

Hmmm damn Celtics would improve a lot with Turner and Jrue.

Would people take, say:

Kemba, 9, 30 for Jrue 13 (obviously routing 13, 14, 26 to Washington)?

I'm not saying the Wizards would do it at all just trying to come up with combinations.
