That’s gonna be a no for me dog.

Would love to get Kemba. Finally we could have a dynamic scorer who can create his own shot.

Let's assume they sent Hayward to the Pacers.
You still have Kemba making $34M, Brown making $23M, and then you'd have Jrue and Tatum getting deals next offseason. Tatum is a given, and will be a max. So let's say around $30M. Now you have almost $90M in 3 players. What are they going to give Jrue? You can't have 4 guys eating up move than what the salary cap is.
I don't get what they would be trying to do with acquiring Jrue, unless they viewed him as a 1 year rental.

I love Kemba Walker, always have since UConn, but 4 years left at $34M/yr is just too damn much for him.
The Pacers would have to inlcude a lot more than Turner. They've got too much salary to not send out a good bit more. They'd have to find another team to take on Oladipo more than likely.

They are sending us Kemba in this scenario.

And at this point, putting JJ into any trade is ridiculous. He was a big part of the SVG hire, no way we will just ship him out.
Yeah, I agree. It seems very likely JJ is considered to be a veteran ambassador to help the team buy into SVG. So he is going to have excess value beyond what he had for us last year. If there is a price to put on a player that can aide in getting your two superstars to buy into your coach and organization, it's a high one.
Don't see him just being thrown into a trade unless he requests out, which all indications are he has a rejuvenated interest in being here.

We'd be dumb to at this point.
If we're openly shopping him it's because he's hinted or outright told us he won't re-sign.
So if it comes down to it you trade him away for something. Even it is just a lottery pick.

Only thing I can figure is, Kemba fills the leadership role the Pelicans say they're looking for. Maybe those picks, packaged with 13 get you, somewhere around top 5?
Other than that...

I don't see Kemba as the guy we would target in that trade. Either Smart or Brown make more sense but they seem to be very valuable to them.

Yep, that is my concern as well.
Pot would need to be a lot sweeter than just another pick around our current spot(likely what Boston could flip it for if they even can) and a guy that would be great for a couple more seasons, but like Jrue, you have to really worry about what the second half of his contract does to you.

It's just rude to engage in Pelican trade rumors then throwing in another trade not involving the Pelicans and having Turner moved for mid-level value

Boston has been desperate to dump their 3 picks all offseason.
This is just them trying to get in on this and dump their picks but I don’t see it happening.
No one wants 3 picks in this draft.

I would absolutely take another lottery pick and Kemba for Jrue...

It’s 3 years and the third is a player option

Depends on the pick and I just don’t love Kemba’s contract. He’s a decent player but way way overpaid.
He would help us but it’s just very meh to me.
Is the pick 6? Or is it 10? Or 14? Big difference.

Would you rather pay Kemba 34 mil for 3 years, or Jrue 30+ mil for the 4 years following this one?
I would guess the pick would be somewhere around 8 or later. I don't think that the Boston picks get you to 6.
