Kira working on 3 point shot, change of pace.

Allegedly said on a Zoom call with fans on behalf of Panini. From the twitters.

Kira said he's been working on his 3pt shooting. He knows most of his shots were hitting the front end because of the arc, so most of his workouts have consisted of form shooting
Also said he’s working on change of pace

Good for him
Tells me he recognizes how important that skill will be to his success with this team.
Also tells me he is humble enough to recognize his shot isn't a finished product and is willing to revisit fundamentals like his form. Something that is an irreconcilable roadblock for many players.

Well I would hope so. Shouldn’t any player try to improve shooting in the offseason?

He needs to watch film on Tony Parker. His speed reminds me of him. Get the teardrop and develop an outside shot and he will be nasty

Wouldn't be surprised at a: 11/2/4 statline from him this year. Now the question is can he up his shooting % to 43/36/85 or so

Every player should try to improve on certain aspects every year. But some don’t. Actually I bet a whole lot don’t.

I know I probably put more stock into our own guys than I should, but I genuinely believe he is the PG we need. He needs minutes. What we did see of him showed flashes. If he can take a Jax like leap, OH LAWD!

Every game I watch him I think he looks absurdly good, then you look at his stat line and it's usually kinda gross, and I just think, "well the shot just wasn't falling, no biggie"

It’s a matter of stat line doesn’t tell the whole story. I’m not worried about his shot. It will definitely get better.
Remember the days of Austin rivers? It was obvious he wasn’t going to be anything better than what he is today, and that was even a stretch. Kira is different. He hustles. He corrects his mistakes. He makes the right read, even if he doesn’t execute it properly.

I agree with you on that.
To me he is going to get so much better the more time he gets.
If he gets a shot, watch out.

What was incredibly encouraging about Kira was that he hardly ever made the wrong play. He always played smart.

He literally only needs minutes. If I have one major gripe with SVG it’s that he didn’t get the growing pains out of the way. We got to see Bledsoe shite all over the court instead of watching Kira grow.

My confidence in Kira is just out of frickin' control

I mean he got minutes at the end of the season and it was clear there was a reason he didn’t get them earlier.
Averaged around 20mpg the last 25 games and averaged only 7ppg, 2.5 asts, 37% from the field and 34% from three. The guy is definitely doing the right thing and still working on fundamentals.
He’s young, so he has time. And for all his faults I don’t think SVG was wrong in being restrained with Kira. Some players need to be unleashed and given a vote of confidence, and some need to be taken along slowly and methodically, and I think Kira is clearly the latter. As was Hayes. Naw the opposite.

And it wasn't offense that caused SVG to keep him on the bench as long as he did.
Kira's biggest need is 10 pounds of muscle to have the strength to defend.

If I was him knowing the direction we are looking to go I would be working on my handle and shooting a hundred 3’s a day staying as close to Vinson as I could. With the natural playmaking ability his speed presents if he could knock down 40% of his shots from beyond the arc then you’ve got something you can build with. If they don’t feel good about his outside shot i would be looking to move him while he’s still got some prospect value to teams.

I think it’s fair to say he struggled at both ends.
He’s a young prospect. Literally one of the youngest players in the league last season.
I still think his upside is really high, but I get why he wasn’t given the minutes some damned SVG for not giving him.
Frankly I think in hindsight, for all his faults, SVG handled our young guys pretty well. More is not always more. And his balance of earning it and extending the leash was, by every metric, pretty successful. And I hope Willie can channel some of that.
Naw was made to earn it and he responded in a great way. Then was given a long leash and he showed out again and again. If not for the injury he’d probably be a big success story and possibly helped edge us into the play in.
Hayes was challenged and carefully brought along and by season end looked like he is poised to take a leap as a player(already showing major improvements).
Zion went to supernova status as point Zion manifested.
Hart took the staff’s trust in him to become a nuclear bomb of energy off the bench
The methodical incorporation of Naji had people asking if we need Hart any more by seasons end.

The last Pel that was reported to be working on his 3 point shot is gone. If Kira is traded, no one will want word to get out that they are working on it anymore.

Ben Simmons? No.
