Kira has played 150 minutes now with 20 assists and 5 turnovers. Small sample size and bench minutes disclaimer, but that's a 4:1 Assist to Turnover ratio. Everyone else on the team is closer to 2:1 or worse.

1 thing that is a bummer for me last night/today on Pels Talk is we aren't talking enough about Kira last night.

His performance IMO was more important than a win or loss there, he's looking better and better each game.

Kira is that 3rd guy in development. He has a complete game. He's going to be a monster by year 3.

NAW has been very active on Defense lately, in particular with his hands. This alone will keep him in the rotation although I think he'll pick up some of JJ's minutes if he is moved. Be nice if he had more foot speed/quickness, we have no one of size to stay in front of elite penetrators (Fox, Lavine ... etc.)

he just seems to have "it"

looks very comfortable methodically dribbling thru the paint, drawing defenders to spots that open up teammates. It reminds me of the way Chris Paul plays (not comparing the two -- just saying Kira looks more like a natural PG than any of other guards)

Kira looks good and he’ll get better with more PT. I’ve been focusing on his defense and he’s going to create a lot of transition opportunities off ball due to his speed and quickness ... 2 steals last night where he was not primary defender. SVG is right though, he needs about 10-12 lbs to hold up on-ball.

In my opinion Bledsoe is more of a liability on the court than giving minutes to Kira. If you’re going to have Eric Bledsoe on the court because he is supposed to provide you with defense and ability to get into the paint, then he can’t be so inconsistent out there. He has had a few nice performances this year, but it’s like he has no rhythm or identity on the court when he is out there. At least Lonzo has shown flashes of what he can be when the offense doesn’t have to run through him.

Unfortunately, it will be more difficult to move Bledsoe this year than next year, but I would try hard to trade him. It seems inevitable that we move JJ for something, hopefully where we don’t have to take on much more salary. It would be nice to find someone to take Bledsoe too though, and I would like to get back some Front Court or Wing help(even if we have to attach 2nds). But the biggest benefit would be an increased role for Kira.

Bledsoe is shooting 40% from 3. Who replaces that?

Bledsoe is also an infamously bad ball stopper. Our offense just looks worse with him out there, even when he’s having a good night. I’d take a ball mover who knows his role like Kira (who may shoot upper 30s on a few attempts from 3) over Bledsoe (ball stopper shooting 40% on a few attempts from 3)

Preferably, those shots would go to Kira. But realistically, I would like to get back another defensive specialist with some length. It would be a plus if they are a decent shooter too. Bledsoe might be shooting at a decent percentage right now, but he is almost invisible some games. I’d rather let Kira grow.

Not sure what is going on with Bledsoe on the defensive end. He has not been good and seems disinterested.

We lost the best on-ball defender in the league. Hoped Zo could help fill Jrue’s role there. No way Jrue lets LaVine go off like that.
Bledsoe’s card is physicality and off ball D not a ball hawk. I don’t think Kira is ready to perform that role unless Zo really steps up on that end.

Probably not, but I’d actually rather him on the court with second units. Our current starting lineup is oddly constructed.....

We have 2 players with limited to no range on the court(at least having Zion taking the ball up the court has helped open up pick and roll opportunities), and another in Bledsoe that ball watches. At least Ingram and Ball have shown the ability to help move the ball around and shoot well when provided the opportunity.

Kira upgrades our passing that is an immediate need for sure, but rather see his defensive development in a key reserve role than starter.
