He's shooting 33% from 3, he's a 27% shooter for his career. He's also getting to the line at a career high rate 6.2 FTAs per game. Now that he's gotten some starts instead of having to carry terrible bench players his NetRtg has gone from negative to positive for the season. I'm still torn on Niko vs. Randle, because we've seen Niko put up great career best numbers too in short bursts this season, but Randle's been making a pretty good case for himself in Niko's absence.

Julius Randle in 8 starts this season:

24.8 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 3.4 apg on 62.7% TS

Holiday - Randle - Davis lineups are +16.1 per 100 possessions. They have a DRTG of 100.5.

And this is with Hill and Frazier getting most of the minutes at the other two spots.

Here Mason did a Per 36 comparison of Boogie last year vs. Randle this year.

His dribbling is going to get him into trouble eventually. But he’s been playing insane. Wish he would go down low more often. He had so many favorable matchups last night he didn’t take full advantage of

Cmon man you couldn't bump my "should julius stay the starter" thread? Hahahaha jk.

Randle is great. I'm so glad we got him this offseason.

What has surprised me is how smooth and quick he is for his size along with his brute physicality.

Thank you for learning to shoot.

Idk about AD but Kyrie is out and Hayward is doubtful.

Sounds like it's 50/50

Davis has been listed as questionable on #Pelicans injury report 6 times prior to games this season. He's played in 3 of those (including home game vs. Celtics on Nov. 26) and been sidelined for 3 (UTA, at Den, WAS). He was doubtful prior to at Por and later ruled out. #analytics

At this point, I'd almost prefer to have Heyward play. Hes been ugly so far.

Since it is becoming apparent that AD will leave and Boston is the only team with the assets to get him, I would like to see a starting 5 of:

Payton
Holiday
Hayward
Randle
Baynes

Jalen Brown and Smart off the bench. Niko and AD in Boston. First rounder in the upcoming draft.

If we send AD to Boston and dont get Tatum back it's a horrible trade for us.
