Yeah me either. We've got first rounders now.

I think everyone would be fine with keeping Bledsoe for at least a year
Trading him next offseason probably makes the most sense, unless someone is going to overpay for him.

Not a big fan of this trade. It will ultimately depend if the Pelicans can unload Bledsoe next week. That's doubtful!
Think cap space is more important than late draft choices. Pels got quantity not qualify.
I believe Hill will be a better fit than Jrue. Hopefully the team can get 40 minutes per game between JJ and Hill

Cap space for who? This free agent class is pretty bad.

What? As long as it’s not big long term salary, cap space means nothing right now. We aren’t winning anything anytime soon. We need to develop all of our young players and see what we have. That needs to be the priority.

Indiana is going to make a trade this offseason to unload salary, i guarantee it. Their owner is invested in malls, and they don't have the revenue without fans this year to have as an expensive team salary that they are projected to have right now.
They have no 1st round pick, and their 2nd round pick is 54.
We have #13, #24, and #39, maybe #42 but who cares.

George Hill can go back to Indy, giving us Turner, and that'll shave $8M off their salary, and we should be able to absorb that amount.
The question is, what kind of pick do we need to attach to it? I would'nt be keen on giving them #13, but they can have #24 and #39, Cleveland 2nd's if those mean anything to them. I doubt that is the kind of return Indy is wanting though. I'd imagine they'd want #13 and #24, and i'm not doing that. I do'nt know if i even want to give them just #13.
I honestly don't know what Turner's value is, but if you can buy low on him right now, why not?

FYI, Mil had to do this to make this deal work:

quote:

Cleveland will receive a future second from Milwaukee by lifting the protection on the 2022 first (from the George Hill 2018 trade) that the Bucks owe them.

Smart move by Cleveland to leverage an additional second.

It should be low because he stunk it up in the playoffs.

Can always guess who the trolls are that will come out with all the negative crap. Very consistent.

That second will likely be a trash pick in the 50s

I doubt he wants to play here.
He doesn't make us better, and he's old as shite. He's got a year left at best and he'll probably retire after this season.
He either sits on the bench all year, or he takes minutes away from young guys, so why would we want him? We already have our veteran guard in Redick, we don't need another one.

Love the trade for the Pels. The thoughts was always were we going to get a veteran or picks for Jrue? Griffin was able to get both. We were on here playing checkers, while Griff was playing Chess. Bledsoe and Hill are both trade assets AND vets that could help or team. Hill is a combo guard who’s good defensively, can help Lonzo handle the ball, and is a sniper from 3. On top of that he’s low usage, he doesn’t need to dominate the ball. He can come in and be our shooting guard. Then Bledsoe, he’s an elite defender, and he can score. Yes, he’s not a great shooter, but I don’t think you put him on the court with Lonzo. I think a backcourt bench duo of Bledsoe and JJ would bring no drop off from our starters. I think trading for Bledsoe and Hill takes us off Hayes (for now). In the draft now I think we target Patrick Williams or a big. BUT like I said, Bledsoe and Hill are also trade assets that Griffin can flip. In our NBA era where there’s no offseason and every day something new is happening, the best thing you can do is stay flexible. You don’t really wanna be tied up because you never know who’s the next disgruntled star. This move from Griff allows the Pelicans to be flexible and do anything with Bledsoe and Hill. And on top of that, we get a ton of trade capital. Elite trade by Griffin.

What is wrong with people? We finally have a PG that can also play defense well enough to not be in a hole without Jrue. He also averages a similar stat line to Jrue and cost us 10 million less. Now y'all want to ship him out first chance you get? But yeah let's keep the 3 expirings of Lonzo, JJ, and Hill until they walk. If we can ship out Hill and either Lonzo/ JJ we have over 30 mil in cap space. So y'all want to trade the best PG we've had in years for 1 year of JJ and Hill or y'all want cap space to go after Gallo, FVV, etc?

So hard to be a GM in this league when star players play musical chairs ad infinitum. Which is why I think building through the draft is key.

I think all the smoke that Griff created to drive up Jrue's price has people focused on top 10 pick. In hindsight I wonder if Griff ever wanted a top 10 pick or if it was all part of driving up Jrue's value.
