By late August, he’s planning to spearhead a mini training camp in either New Orleans or L.A., gathering as many teammates as he can onto the same court and mimicking full-court practices.
“We have so many new guys I think we need something like that for chemistry,” Holiday said.

In Jrue I trust.

Have the mini-camp in New Orleans. I don't like how Jrue is still working out with his buddy, AD, in California. Why get the young players accustomed to L.A.? They should be getting acclimated to New Orleans.

Because it’s probably easier to get everyone in LA than in NOLA in August

Idc where he does it really. I just love to hear that he's being the leader we need and taking it upon himself to set this up. In Jrue we trust.

I don't like the idea of having Zion fly to L.A. to work out. The only player that has worked out with Jrue that's still on the team is Frank Jackson. All of Jrue's workout buddies seem to be malcontent ex-Pelicans. His workouts didn't keep AD on the team.

here's the thing.
the pels are all-in on holiday, by circumstance and by design. if you agree with that tact then you agree that jrue has another level he can reach...an MVP type level

he's in his prime, he's got guys around him that can help lift him up, he's the unquestioned alpha and he can swing a game in crunch time by himself. i'm not sure there has been a better circumstance for a player to impact wins & losses in a while, maybe kawhi in TOR.

here's a good comp: chauncey billups

how many ppl thought billups could be the undisputed leader on an NBA champion, and finals MVP? but thats exactly what he did alonside hamilton, wallace, sheed & prince. nobody on that team was (or is) considered a superstar, and billups had mostly toiled under appreciated until then

Jrue’s trainer has no problem being in NOLA as well. He does it during the season.

Does the "franchise player" own a house in New Orleans?

The team should have their meet-and-greet camp at his New Orleans home then.

Why does it matter where?
Didn't the team do the same thing in Kentucky in 2017?

Because these dummies think the rookies will get their brains tainted in LA and want to leave NOLA. I can promise you these rookies at some point in there careers will live in the offseason in LA. Majority of players do it.

I'm not trying to convince anyone. This is my opinion.

Not all players live in California. Jrue is a Cali dude. He's based there. He trains there. I think his doctors are there.

I don't think it's a coincidence his name was mentioned in the Kawhi Clippers trade. I also remember Jrue saying 90% of the reason he re-signed with the Pels was to play with AD.

Jrue is a pro. He is max-effort every game. Don't get me wrong, I like and respect his game. I just don't want the young Pelican players getting use to L.A. This seems like it could influence them to buy their own Cali homes, like AD. Who knows what originally sparked AD's interest in living there.
