Holiday suffered the injury last week against the Boston Celtics. He missed the remaining four games on the Pelicans' five-game trip due to the injury. The Pelicans initially diagnosed Holiday's injury as inflammation in his right ankle. With the updated diagnosis, Holiday will be held out of all basketball activites until his symptoms improve. He will be re-evaluated each week.
training/medical staff...again?

I honestly think we need a new staff.

still this guy?

Technique Certified, kinesiotape practitioner and is a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Ishop received his Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology at the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 and his
master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Houston in 2001.

That doesn't seem abnormal to me. Stress fractures typically require an MRI to be seen, so telling Jrue to see what happens if he rests a few days is fine. We don't know how long they've been sitting on the MRI results, they probably have known since Sunday when Jen Hale said Jrue might not be back for a while.

Meh, I'm not convinced there's a problem with the staff. Just shitty luck combined with a thin roster.

This definitely sucks, but I'm not going to panic just yet. I'll save that for if he has surgery.

Injuries happen to all teams at some point, shouldn't buy Monty and time or be an excuse for him. He sucks arse whether the roster is full or not.

Same thing as last year 2-4 weeks turned into all year
Posted on 1/21/15 at 7:12 pm to NorthshoreTiger76
Based on what Jen Hale said on the pre-game show, it is the same bone, just slightly below the fracture from last year. Could very well be related.

From David Wesley during the broadcast:

It shows some weakness there, you put that rod in there to strengthen everything and everything else has to pull everything together and it's not doing a good job right now.

Well, at least this may help monty get fired sooner...
This is the exact reason he wasn't fired last season. This might actually delay the firing process even more

Yup. I'd wouldn't be totally surprised if we don't see Jrue again this year.

I am worried about this as well. Jrue's injury could be just the excuse Monty needs for not making the playoffs.

While it's hard to blame the actual injuries on the medical staff, misdiagnosing with our players seems to be a common occurrence, or at least it just seems that way to me. Maybe it is common with other teams as well and I only see it because of how I follow the Pels compared to the rest of the league.
Posted on 1/22/15 at 9:27 am to mm2316
This isn't a misdiagnosis though, it's something undetectable without an MRI. It seems like they said "Let's wait a few days and hope for the best" and it didn't improve so they scanned it and told Jen Hale.
Someone on PR posted an article about "stress reactions" which apparently is a medical term for a pre stress fracture. I'm not sure if rest will help or if it's destined to full on fracture again. Some of the treatment options I've seen sound a bit like what Gordon did, strengthening muscles around the bad area. Jrue may have to learn a new way to play, one of his strengths is how he moves his feet, but obviously the current way he does it is too rough on his bones.
