He’s not the leader. He’s not the second best player. He may not be the third or fourth best. Try to move him

Yeah, I've had enough of seeing him and Zo on the court together. They cannot coexist.

I sort of agree
You have to choose one

He’s inconsistent on offense. Can play like one of the best guards in the league then lay an egg like today

Not the biggest Zo fan, but his passing is better than Jrue's. Gotta find a way to get a good SG for Jrue and another player (maybe Miller and/or Frank).

Need a scorer next to Lonzo. A guy that can, ya know, make a free throw.

The Jrue lovers will call you an idiot. We are not allowed to tell the truth about Jrue's game here.

Who could we realistically get? The only name I can think of is Beal, but there's no way we can afford that going forward, right?

Jrue confuses the hell out of me. I mean he's been a solid contributor for this team but suddenly he's not clutch at all and can't make free throws

on top of that, he's typically pretty good after his annual beginning of the season slump

he just breaks the flow of the offense right now. he doesn't know what his role is. and on top of that, took the ball out of BI's hands at the end of the game

This is my biggest issue with him. His game and Ingram’s are too similar with ball dominant type play. You can’t have them together PLUS Zion as another guy who needs to ball in his hand and is an easy bucket.

it's an idiotic take because it's nothing close to the truth.

constructing a great NBA roster isn't about getting the best players, it's about maximizing skills + having those skills mesh + having a hierarchy

BI is a better scorer than Jrue is. Jrue can score & has been the scorer for us but that's not what he's best at.

If Jrue can adjust his game to be a more low usage, dribble-penetration, spacer while continuing his defensive prowess, he is perfect for us. but he has to adjust. and he has to understand he's not the scorer.

People just want Jrue to play opposite roles every night. Sometimes people say he’s too passive and “cant score.” Then other times, he scores 25 points and misses some shots in the 4th, so people say he shoots too much and doesnt know how to give the reins to Ingram

Those 3 have games that compliment each other really well imo.

It depends on what Gayle’s threshold is but we absolutely have the assets and the perfect role to slot him into.

I’ve said before, a multi team trade that moves Jrue to a place like Miami and dumps a bunch of assets on Washington to give them a sense of a path forward will also to certainly get it done.

Lonzo, Beal, Ingram, Zion, Favors is a really solid unit if you assume(I think rightfully) that Zo and Ingram improve defensively and Beal starts giving a shite again.

true. and the problem with Jrue being in Nola for all these years, he's worn a LOT of different hats and at this point, doesn't know which one to put on.

he's actually got someone next to him that can facilitate and another that can score. 2 things he has been asked to do for years. he just has to adjust like he has time & time again for this team

I don’t know if he can change his game like that at 29 years old tho. And he’s not a good enough shooter to claim that role that we need. Defensively, he’s perfect for us. Offensively he’s a very bad fit that I don’t see improving unless he somehow improves his perimeter shot drastically.

Ingram can be lead scorer while Jrue takes on the main defensive role and secondary creator/scorer role. Zion fits as a natural scorer within the game of basketball, he doesnt need to create yet.

The main fix with the lineup would be replacing favors with a Brooke Lopez, Marc Gasol, or Jaren Jackson type center.

So if Lonzo continues to shoot well, we have either Jrue or Ingram creating with Zion playing the center role on offense, with Lonzo, stretch center whoever it may be, and whoever out of Jrue/Ingram not creating all spotting up. Thats a deadly lineup
