When he's winning more games with Tatum, Niko, and Hayward than he ever did with AD, he'll feel better.

Jrue is just biding his time until he can get back to California. He 100% signed with us because of the monster contract we gave him.

Life must be pretty good if 26 million dollars / year is only 10 % of your decision making process.

Gotta make sure you have buddies on your team, Ron

No reason to hang on to him at this point. Just makes things that much easier to move him if he wants out.

The reason to hang on to him all depends on what assets you get back for AD. If it's Tatum you definitely want Jrue because Tatum isn't known for his defense. If it's the #1 pick then you're going full youth movement and then you would trade him.

shite, why not? West’s a bloodbath already with 14 contenders and the Suns.

With us and the Grizz dropping out, that’s still 12 teams actively fighting for 8 slots.

As I’ve been saying, doing Jrue a solid when we tear it down isn’t a bad option.

Because I don't want a team where Tatum and 2 rookies I picked between 5-10 are my best players. Tatum will become all sourpuss like Eric Gordon did if he has to wait around for a rebuild and then possibly becomes displaced as the top player by a future draft pick. Either go all in a the draft or reload around Jrue and Tatum/Simmons.

BOS might be able to give us a package that can keep us competitive enough to keep him but I’d say it’s doubtful. They will probably center the trade around draft picks and Brown and some young fillers

I'm not sure why Tatum and the #1 pick are looked at any differently. They both represent a youth movement.

I know all of this is still being digested, but i'm not understanding the "build around Jrue" crowd. I really like Jrue but there's no way we should start a rebuild with a 100 million dollar player on the books.

I look at it the same way when KCP signed with the Lakers. They did Rich Paul a favor.

If I’m upper management I try to build the best relationships with agents across the league, in order better to recruit/sell guys to the new program.
Of course I’m also hiring David West as an assistant GM.

Relationships matter. I’d hate to see Jrue waste the rest of his prime.

But we’ve been going round and round on this for a few months, so I’m dropping out of this thread.
