I wasn't gonna say it, but definitely looked like a little soccer flailing going on.

No leadership to be found anywhere in the Pels organization. Just one misstep after another.

It's Gayle's fault that Jose got hurt playing for his national team?

Your GDS (Gayle Derangement Syndrome) is truly entertaining at this point. For a while, I wanted you banned, but I changed my mind now. This is hilarious!.

Jose has been on quite the run this off-season. He's actually been playing a ton of 1 v 1's against random basketball youtubers. He lost one of those games lol. I think dude just likes to hoop.

That's my thought. He does need to be a bit more careful though. He treats every PR game as a life or death situation lol

Puerto Rico is a US Territory, shouldn’t even have a national team like Guam.

Yes, Gayle pays Jose not PR and should contractually limit his risk of injury.

Wait ... you're pretending to be serious about this.

Dude, look at Luka, Giannis, and all the other NBA stars playing in Eurobasket right now. Every NBA team allows their players to compete for their country.

Those are real sovereign nations. Jose needs to try out for Team USA, Puerto Rico is a territory and a drag on the US taxpayer.

Got it. Gayle is incompetent, because she allows Jose to play for Puerto Rico, because Puerto Rico isn't a real country.

Such a predictable take.

How bout we give Puerto Rico two US Senators and five electoral votes? Then we take away their basketball team! Deal?

We are way off topic, but we lack other things to talk about, so I'll just say that Puerto Rico is much, much less of a drag on the taxpayer as a territory than it would be as a state. Puerto Rico found that out the hard way after Hurricane Maria in 2017, when the disaster aid from the US was severely limited.

People in Puerto Rico pay Social Security and Medicare taxes like other Americans (and, of course, they also get those benefits), but they don't pay federal income tax and so miss out on lots of federal benefits that they would be eligible for (e.g. Obamacare).

How would Puerto Ricans vote in federal elections? It's tough to say. On economic issues, they are more progressive, but they are more religious than the US as a whole and more conservative on LGBT, abortion, and similar issues.
