Jordan and Kobe would have never put up with Zion’s BS as a teammate

Can you imagine the way Jordan would have treated Zion behind closed doors and at practice with the way Zion has gone about this? This new generation is so fricking soft. Mental midgets

I mentioned Rick Barry and Pat Riley before the game -as coaches in a similar context.
coaches, players, no one did.

It's a testament to the fact that you really can't predict how a big paycheck will affect these young kids motivation.

You see it a lot in the NFL also, great player get huge paydays then have a mentality that they have "made it" and the effort and desire drys up.

I keep seeing people bring up Simmons, but I don’t think the two are comparable. Simmons was an excuse he used because he was pissed off at the franchise and wanted to be moved. I don’t think that’s the case here.

his baseball stint and retirements came at ages 30, 36, and 40. After he had already won three championships.

different than being a 22 year old $40 million gaping vagina

Why stop there? Would they have put up with any of the dozens of current NBA players that sit for load management or take off multiple games to make sure they are 100% before stepping back on the court?

And played another sport full-time. Although he didn't really do it well.

But none of that makes the OP's point wrong. There are certain stars/coaches in the past that would have shipped him off. Instead we're treating him like a little kid riding a bike still with training wheels on.

Wasn't that to honor his father and play baseball? Much different circumstances. Also, it wasn't like he was on the team and not playing.

What does it matter if he retired twice? Wasn't his father murdered? Doesn't matter what he did late in his career either.

Jordan certainly wouldn't be out there dunking and then not play a play-in/playoff game.

Bet Kwame Brown can.

But why does this matter?.. The pels ( and maybe no other NBA team) have no player close to the level of Jordan or Kobe who could pull that off.

Not only would they not have put up with it…they would have been the alpha in the room and prevented it.

There was also no media coverage the way we have today vs "back then"....

Tell me where you think it would be ok for an athlete to stay out in Atlantic City the night before a game til sun up and go play a game the next day? Or do half the shite they did "back then"....

Everyone has a voice now. Every single person on this forum is a "reporter"... in 1989.... not one person outside of the actual media was a true source like they are today.

I’m sure if I scroll through your post history, the bubble counts and LeBron has never had any help.

There is an argument to be made for getting rid of CJ’S salary and adding Draymond to the mix in one final attempt to light a fire under Zion’s arse.

I know we hate him and the fit might be a little clunky. But he is a winner and our team of nice guys isn’t getting through to Zion. He might need to get belittled and motivated by Draymond for a year or 2 to reach his full potential. Draymond also has an elite basketball IQ unlike CJ. He could probably teach Ingram, Zion, and hell Willie Green, etc a thing or two about situational basketball.
