Right, it wouldn’t be just scoot and I completely get people rejecting this hypothetical if it were just scoot. But if it’s scoot plus other intriguing young players. I’d pull the trigger.

A 35-year old should never be "aspirational"

And Porzingas? I mean come the frick on

One decent year for a guy who will want the super max?

Those are suicidal settlements. You don't try to build a championship window around a declining 35-year old or a cancer like Porzingas eating up a huge chunk of your cap.

If BI turned into

Scoot
Sharpe
Myles Turner
Max Slot Available at trade deadline or next offseason

I do it 10/10 times

You have a new core of:

Scoot
Sharpe
Trey
Herb
Zion

Everything else is kinda lanigappe and all assets can be cost controlled until the end of Zion extension (Plus) give ample room to move off assets if things dont work out in the next two years.

Buddy is irrelevant here. He is either Trey Money or another 20-30M dollar player.

Im also giving Pacers more picks to take Simons contract as reflected in trade above.

Why I like this Core:

Scoot: Elite Penetrator (Pause) and can get the ball to Zion or finish at the hoop

Sharpe: Check out the last 20 games of the year stats for him. Only slightly worse shooting splits than our soon to be rockstar TM3. Can also get to the basket and finish with authority.

Trey: Its Trey we know hes the next gen Star.

Herb: Elite Defender and can give Draymond Minutes in a sinch. Need a guy like this to win ships.

Zion: Your all world talent that can lift the above even higher.

So CJ with a $35M deal will ride the bench along with Dyson and Kira. There is no way the Blazers will trade Sharpe.
I would trade CJ and JV to the Rockets for Sengun and the Rockets' second pick in the first round. The Rockets have lots of capp space and need a pg plus leadership. CJ is better alternative than JH.

Bro no. Zion BI and even CJ are all untouchable. Let’s trade a star who actual wants to be here. Smart

Also trading a dollar for 4 quarters is literally the opposite of what you should do in the NBA. You only make this trade if we were tanking or if he actually wanted out so your hand is forced. Zion BI CJ Trey Herb and GTA are your core. Everyone else can be traded. We should resign JV on a 10-15 mil per year contract and call it an off-season. If an opportunity does arise you he will be a positive asset at that type of money. If he wants more pick up Hayes’ option and possibly think of drafting a center at 14 or leverage that for a rangy defensive big.

May want to revisit that trade. We do not own the Bucks 2024 pick, only a swap. We also only own the Bucks pick in 2025 if it falls in top 4, so are Blazers accepting it assuming it will fall at 4? Also, how in the hell would the Pacers get Simons, JV adn 3 1st rounders for Turner and Hield?! Even if the picks were accurate, are you really proposing that we would give up BI and 5 1sts for Scoot, Sharpe, Turner and Hield?

My new core is the better Team in 2 seasons easily.

We've seen this movie and its sequel already. You are hedging to see something that has quite frankly only happened once in the teams history.

So he can be misused, not play the 4th Quarter, and make Larry's legs give out by Jan

What the frick?

There’s no way shape or form Pels should be giving up 2 1sts in that much less 5 of them.

1) They are getting the best player in the deal
2) Dame might be pressuring them into doing something they typically wouldn't
3) The 2024 Swap via MIL can be swapped in the trade with the 2024 R1 via Laker to give the Blazers a better shot at a good pick in either 24 or 25 + remove the restriction. Pacers now get a value R1 pick that could turn into something nice.

Absofrickinglutely

Hield turns in either Treys 22-25M contract or a Max slot.

So in reality in this deal you get your Starting PG/SG/SF (who is a future star long term) + Turner who helps Zion's game out.

On top of still having CJ for the bulk of this team and ability to still make moves at the trade deadline with cap space.

AND FINALLY

WE CANT KEEP HOLDING ONTO 20 PICKS. LET THEM GO.

We still control our own asset in 2025 when we actually should make a pick.

Pacers need sugar in order to do the trade.

To put this into perspective

2023 Roster under this trade is in no particular order

Scoot
CJ
Herb
Trey
Buddy (at deadline or expire)
Sharpe
Jose
Larry
EJ
Matkovic
Turner
Zion
Naji
Daniels
Kira

2024

Scoot
CJ
Herb (Newly Paid)
Trey
Sharpe
Jose
Larry
EJ
Matkovic
Turner
Zion
Naji (returning Deal)
Daniels
Kira (returning Deal or 2-way)
(2-Way)

2025

The sky is the limit you can do literally whatever you want with the team due to the cap space you have now and you have your 2025 pick.

You don’t send 3 1sts, Jonas and Anfernee Simons for Myles fricking Turner and Buddy Heild.

You’re trading two guys to the Pacers who are better than the guys you get back PLUS you’re giving them 3 1sts.

Who the hell in their right mind thinks thats a good trade?

You are stuck on this when we need another team to take Simons to make the trade work money wise.
