---I would be wise to wait until at least, midway through this season to make this prediction & see how DD is progressing...but where's the fun (& risk of looking really silly) in waiting around to do it later?

---And by "better", I mean DD would be more valuable than TM for the Pels...when they are trying to win a serious NBA game. Anybody wanna jump on this "Dyson Train" with me...or am I all alone on this one? By the way, this doesn't mean I don't think TM will be a solid NBA player...I just like DD's overall future more.

Even if his developmental track is Marcus Smart, he still won't be more valuable than Murphy.

Daniels needs to develop touch near the basket if he has any shot of developing into a credible offensive threat. We to see him finish a lot better and a lot more frequently at the basket. His jumpshot is still a ways away.

Has anybody been keeping up with how Daniels has looked for team Australia so far?

That’d be cool if you’re right because then that would mean we’d have the 1st and 2nd best players in the NBA

He played 12 minutes yesterday vs. Venezuela.
5 pts on 2-3 shooting (1-1 from 3), 0-2 FT, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 TO

I'm as big on Dyson as anyone here. I think his floor is what Lonzo was pre injury. But I just can't agree with this take, especially the way you have defined it.

Trey being a 2 way player with elite shooting ability and gravity is insanely valuable to this team. For Dyson to provide more value he'd have to get big and strong enough to play center.

If the team finds a way to make Zion/Herb/Trey/BI/Dyson work as their biggest minute lineup, the league is in trouble.

I'm just not sold on TM being anything but "average" on D...& might end up just being a one-dimensional player on O...although he is an outstanding C&S 3-pt specialist. Hope you're right about TM...because he definitely has an amazingly high "ceiling".

You're going to ignore his elite finishing ability at the rim, strong transition game, cutting ability, and dribbling off of closeouts to finish and or get to the line?

And we haven't even talk about things he's working on this offseason ala pull up midrange and movement.

Murphy is more than just a specialist and will continue to add to his offensive game.

He's not gonna end up better than Trey. That's not a bad thing, trey is just a stud. Now, if you said herb i would agree. I think Dyson is already a better rebounder and passer than herb and i don't think dyson is far behind herb on defense if at all.

Fantastic "ceiling" for sure...far higher than DD's. I'm just not real high on relying on "ceilings"...they are hardly ever reached...by NBA players. Hope you're right about him.

Yeah that is only your opinion. Not a knock on DD though. Because Trigga is about to be the solid third piece to our championship team.

Dyson has a ton of ability but saying Trey Murphy is one dimensional offensively is underselling him

Trey being average defensively while being one of the most efficient offensive players in the league is very valuable. Probably more valuable than the inverse, which is probably where Dyson ends up (average offensively, beast defensively)

I just think Trey's spacing unlocks a lot for the team. That kind of shooting and gravity usually comes with a lot of compromises, but with Trey you have a lot fewer compromises. He's passable on defense with the potential to be solid to good. He can put the ball on the floor and score off the dribble with the potential to become a 3 level scorer.

None of that is throwing any shade on Dyson. I think Dyson's ceiling is either what Lonzo should have become or what Ben Simmons should have become. There's a ton of value to the Pels in either of those paths for Dyson, although not needing a true center most of the time with this core unlocks so much.

I was one of the bigger DD fans on here when we drafted him. Think he will be better than Herb, not sure about Trey just b/c of how valuable 3 point shooting is and Trey is elite at that. Hoping DD can at least be average at it.

Don't agree with the OP but sure hope he's right, as we'll be a stacked team if Dyson ends up that good...

Until he shows some consistency behind the arc, he's a long way from Lonzo. His floor is pre-Vinson Lonzo, because that's what he is right now. The deep stroke was a HUGE upgrade for Lonzo. Maybe Dyson can take that next step, but not all guys can.

And he can probably guard 3-5 in stretches while not getting overly exposed on switches.
