He talks about NOLA and his free agency

Still listening to it now, will update with some points hes talked about as it goes.

He wanted to sign last week, Barry postponed that.

Pels outsourced his physical and MRI, and he had it done in New York, the orthopedic Dr was the Nets Dr, the medical Dr was the Knicks Dr.

He didn't really want to do a press conference, he fathered spend the time with his family.

He thought he would retire in Philly, but when he heard NOLA was a possibility, he got genuinely excited about coming with our young pieces, and especially Jrue.

When Utah signed Bojan, he was hoping we could get Favors, and was excited about that move.

when he's first listing the things he knows about new orleans it's like he went online and got a list of the most stereotypical things about nola and read off of it

He said food, Mardi Gras, and the film industry.

It's not like he said it's alligators and swamp tours.

I thought the same thing when he listed the things he knows about Nola. Although he mentioned the unique history bc of the French influence and being the most important port outside of New York. Overall not a bad answer for someone who’s clearly never really been in Nola longer than like a weekend.

He also mentioned Garden District and Uptown later in the pod and said he’s never really been to those areas and he’s really excited to explore them.

What a legend.

Great listen.

He said it was crazy seeing woj tweet out he was going to nola before even speaking with the pelicans on june 30.

He seems really excited to come here. Sounded like he had plenty of options and he chose us over other suitors.

Also spoke of Dudley talking up Griff back in May. Unfortunate we didn't have the space for him, but you know Dudley was probably dying to play here if offered.

He was ABOUT to drop the details on his Jrue conversation and stopped short due to tampering fears, but his statements on the enforcement of tampering rules said it all. Seemed like Langdon and Jrue got Redick here honestly. And I wouldn’t be shocked if Jrue was instrumental in getting Favors. THATS the type of shite Griff is challenging him to do. THATS the type of shite AD never bothered doing or didn’t have the clout to pull off. It’s why I think this team will surprise people this year. People sleeping on Jrue Holiday the leader.

I legit went into it having no clue what he sounds like, then I had a pull up a pic while I listened to reconcile it in my head. I have no idea what I thought he'd sound like, but that wasn't it.

This time a year ago, the JJ Redick's of the NBA would have laughed if their agents called them and asked if they were interested in going to NOLA on a fair market deal. Hell they probably would have laughed if their agents called and asked if they were interest in going to NOLA on a significantly above market deal.

Now, a year later, we have a guy like JJ Redick fielding various offers and choosing us because it just makes too much sense vs. going somewhere else.

JJ had a well established life in Brooklyn with his family. He initially wanted to stay in the Northeast so he could maintain his life in Brooklyn and not have to move his wife and kids (His main residence while playing in Philly was his Brooklyn home). But now, NEW ORLEANS is calling up to see his interest and he agrees to come here prior to FA even officially starting.

It's god damn amazing, sons.
