Heard Rumblings that Jared Harper was traded for the Louisiana High School Basketball GOAT. Is this true?

Yea I saw on Pel Reddit that Harper was going to another g league team but did know Smart was coming here. That's really cool I didn't even know the g league had trades and a fricking draft lol. We got to get Javonte to think his playing Tennessee every game when he's playing for the Squad.

It looks like we traded Harper and a 1st for Smart and a 3rd. I have no clue how to value GLeague picks, but I guess we got the better player back. Keep in mind this is all about the Squadron. The Pels have no rights unless they give him a 2 way or regular contract on the main roster.

I like Javonte. My brother actually hooped against him in HS and dropped 15 on Javonte’s head in the Pels arena as a 8th or 9th grader in like 5 minutes of work. Javonte was in like 10-11th grade at that point.
Nostalgia aside, this is a bad trade. Harper is far superior. We should’ve gotten the 1st back tbh. Javonte is like a super poor man’s Tyreke Evans. Miami literally had to bench him in the SL, to get a good look at Nikola Jovic. Once they did that, Miami stopped losing by 40 and Jovic balled out.
Harper meanwhile, carried our SL team despite being off on his shot. His real plus minus was incredible in the SL. Jared Harper is like a pre injury Isaiah Thomas with less of a green light. And Harper is more cerebral.
Idk who is conducting our G League Trades, but this one isn’t a good look.

I played against Javonte in high school and boy was it it a different experience than your brother. Pretty sure he had a 35 point triple double
Also - dude it’s a G league trade and neither of these guys are quality NBA players. It’ll all be okay

I see you are back from your suspension and you haven’t changed one bit.
And Meh. I was there. You weren’t. I didn’t say he was better than Javonte. He had a good game. Shooters shoot. My brother also played some games against Mitchell Robinson too. There wasn’t as much success in those, as Mitch is difficult to shoot over, even from 3 point land.
My breakdown of Javonte is fair though. I’ve followed him pretty heavily since he was a Soph at HS and I actually like him. I just refuse to be biased about him. Go rewind the tape on the Miami SL games. Javonte played horrendous and he straight up had to get benched for Miami to actually get some quality reps in.
The only thing he has over Harper is size. Harper is the all around better player though.
Bad trade. Doesn’t make a lick of sense. Just bc it’s G League, doesn’t mean we should piss away assets. I’m sure our G League GM has aspirations of being an NBA GM one day. Making a weird, lopsided trade like that, isn’t going to be a feather in his cap down the line.

That's my understanding as well. Neither one are under contract with an NBA team.
