I would kill to have a team that I followed that I could report good things about. I hate knowing some of the things I know

We all would love to see competence. Harris would have made this team a playoff team, not because he's some star but it's because he fits a major need we're lacking big time or at least consistently .

Did Demps just not want to give up Ryno to get Tobias? I remember it was pretty close to being done then the Pistons swooped in, so what changed on our end?

No, it was opportunity cost. They get Harris and they couldn't go after Parsons, Batum, or even Hill-- all of whom they preferred fit wise. Remember, they were dead set on hard working, defensive minded, team oriented players. Harris can be a chucker at times who isn't know for his defense

Yup. Now we're severely lacking offense outside of jrue and AD. Short sighted in thinking Harris could fit, but I imagine they think moore/buddy can be a bigger offensive threat so that's why they preferred those 3.
I just hate it more that we hear Barnes was willing to come if we offered. I think off the top of my head number wise we could have also gotten Galloway and might be enough to keep Ennis with a little moving

Barnes wouldn't have been THIS Barnes if we got him though. Dallas worked with him a ton and gave him a ton of usage. We wouldn't have done either of those things IMO

Barnes would have been a 3rd fiddle at the very least. Defensively he's not a seave, well rounded offensively. He won't be the heavy usage #1 guy like he is in Dallas but I'd say a 17/5/2 guy was completely possible. His 3pt dropped but we all knew that was gonna happen

Is this thread even about Okafor anymore?
Posted on 2/18/17 at 4:37 pm to gotiger
We haven't heard anything on that for a while. It sounds like the Pels have made the best and only offer and the main questions are will Philly decide to just keep him or will the Pels make a deal on something else?

This really should be tofficial trade thread. We sure as shite didn't talk about Okafor for 21 pages

Thanks for the update. Didn't want to run through 21 pages about other stuff to get an answer

Monroe.....or Drummond? Anyone else on the Pistons worth a dam to trade for??
Posted on 2/18/17 at 6:32 pm to Lilpickles

So according to David Aldridge it was a potential deal with Portland that made the 76ers hold Okafor out. It broke down and they traded with the nuggets.
Side note, I was surprised to hear AD say Westbrook was one of his closest friends in the NBA.

All of this. I was high on Barnes to start last season, then I walked back on that praise by playoffs. But he was/is still a good player at position where it's really easy to have a weak link. The SF position outside of having a great player there, is really up to how the Coach uses it. Barnes would provide steady production there with the ability to be a stretch four next to AD at times.
The Max contract is crazy but if you're a rebuilding team, what difference does it make? At least gives you somebody to build around or build with down the line.

Right. Definitely a lot for Barnes, but he checks a lot of boxes for this team.
If they were prepared to offer Parsons and his knees (w/ this med staff) a max, not sure why Barnes is that much riskier.
I get some of the risk in waiting until 7/4 for Durant to decide. But what's the worst case? You get lesser guys and win 30-35 games?

#Cavs have had some talks with Pelicans and are listening to offers for Iman Shumpert, per ESPN. Moving Shump "not likely" tho, per source
