It's called "tanking" for a reason...lighten up people and...

...concentrate on improvement by certain players in certain areas of their overall game.
Trey...by the end of this season...hopefully improves "handle" & going to the hoop & becomes something besides a C&S 3-pt guy.
Herb...improve finishing at the hoop, especially going to his right...continue to work on his 3-pt shot...USE this "tank season" to get Herb MANY more shots per game & allow him to move out of the corner & work on his "handle" and find out just how much he can offer as a creative player on offense.
Missi...just play huge minutes and you'll get better in all aspects.
That's the 3 main folks... that we need to "use" this 82-game tankathon...as a glorified practice session...to take some serious steps in their overall improvement. I'm optimistic on Herb & Missi...not so sure about Trey.
We're gonna lose around 55-60 games (I hope it's at least 60)...finish in the bottom 4...and get a VERY solid player for our misery.

I don't think we are actively trying to tank. Green abd his staff's job isn't secure enough for him to try to tank. He lost his players and have no idea how to right the ship without his stars.
If we were tanking, we would be playing Reeves and Matkovic big minutes but we're playing our starters big minutes.

JMO...there's an art to "tanking". You can make it VERY obvious or you can make subtle "moves" that are nowhere near as obvious. I think we are doing a fairly good job of the latter.
I always try to find that "silver lining"...that I kinda talked about with my original post.

Murray, CJ, Herb, Trey and Missi should be more competitive if they are anything like we think they are. So is that all coaching, or maybe are our guys not as good as we think. That’s the depressing thought for me.

We have 23 losses.
17 of them have been by double digits.
That means 60% of the games we've played thus far we've lost by double digits.
The Grizzlies lost 31 out of 55 by double digits last year playing without Morant and Smart for the majority of the season and without Bane for half the season.
They were 27-55 and still finished 7th to last. I'm not advocating we go out and win a bunch of games. That's not realistic. If we were to win 20 of our next 54 that would be miraculous, and that would have us finishing 25-57. It dosen't matter who's coaching, we aren't going to finish better than 7th or 8th, adn the likilhood is we are around 5.
The attitude of this team has to change, and Willie has to go. I'll give Willie some slack in that the players aren't doing what he's asking them to do, but maybe it's b/c they don't believe in him and simply don't want to play for him.
Get rid of him asap. As I said, even if we go on a run and start playing better, we're still finishing bottom 8 no matter what, and the liklihood is 4-6 range no matter what. We have too much talent to play this bad, and also too much talent to finish bottom 3. Nothing positive for the future is coming from how they are playing right now.

Griffin's trading away quality bench players and Willie's small ball fetish with no big man center has created a losing team. 5 guards/small forwards on the floor at the same time won't cut it in the NBA. Their lack of defense and rebounding is probably near the worse in the league.

No. That is not the reason for our problems.
We traded away one quality bench player in Dyson and replaced him with a starter. We traded away Larry, who was hurt more than anyone not named Zion. We let JV and Naji go because we are up against the tax and it doesn't make sense to pay tax for a roster that isn't a contender.

So tank and continue to let inept leadership make decisions. There were teams that tanked after us that are now at top of the standings. Griffin and Willie need to be sent packing this weekend.
