I actually appreciate his comments, regardless of his play. He called himself out and he called the team out for coasting by on talent. Quite refreshing, actually.

Doesn’t make me buy in on him, but it’s nice to hear someone not bullshite

Agreed he didn’t use the injury as an excuse and is dealing it with it the right way. I’m not sure what happens in the offseason but maybe this will teach him that his game as currently constructed just cant be successful. If he evolves his game where hes quicker with the ball and shoots a majority of 3s- he would be a huge asset but I’m just not sure if he’ll ever do that. He does seem like he wants to stay in nola though.

I’m a fan of BI but it’s time to move on. I appreciate him possibly being the second best wing in Pels history (behind Mashburn). However, I would use him and our first round picks for a legit PG.

And his coach refused to save him from himself.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid BI's usage and resulting struggles in this series were because our staff could not put together any reasonable sets against OKC and just asked BI to play point guard and create. Unfortunately, our shooters were largely terrible, so there was nothing to set up.

Man, you are really going to die on this BI hill. BI was AWFUL. This is the kind of performance that can be career altering. He failed at literally everything. This was similar to Ben Simmons against the Hawks a few years ago. Dort destroyed him so much that he got himself open twice in the same move and didn’t shoot. He ended up turning it over on a kickout pass to Naji.

BI’s performance had nothing to do with his teammates. Hell, Jonas gave him 19/13 last night, CJ scored 20 on better than 50% shooting, and Naji had 16 off the bench. BI was 2/14 and scored 8 points. He got progressively worse this series.

I saw some cracks I wasn’t expecting to see. He did say a lot of positive things you’d expect from him like loving the city, but he also said he’s gotta do what’s best for him and his family while answering the question about his next contract. That’s in addition to saying they’ve got to get the city to believe in them again. I’m just saying he seems a little shook, and grass elsewhere might be looking greener than it did 2 weeks ago.
