Food for thought...Zion is on pace for 8 blocks...for the entire season.

They can't even drop 50 points combined on most nights. They certainly ain't giving you 1 block combined a game nor are they giving you more than 1 steal total combined. But let's pretend they are putting up those fantasy numbers you posted at all.

Yea, that was a very weird post. The insinuation from it is that they are playing very well putting up numbers they're expected to and posters still aren't happy.

This season, like last season and the season before it, was about answering the question of how well BI and Zion play together. So far the answer is not great. I usually am leading the charge against people chicken littling because they don't like losing. That's not what I see happening here. There appear to be some fundamental, structural issues, that even if CJ and Trey coming back covers it up, it's just a papered over hole in the wall that will need to be addressed.

Their games simply do not mesh. When you watch the reserves come in and play, you quickly notice how different the offense feels. It's like they're running two completely different offenses.

Yeah but the coaching staff isn’t even trying to mesh it. Go ahead and count how many pick and rolls with BI/Zion we saw last night? I think it was one or two and both resulted in easy baskets.

I don’t think you have any idea what I was insinuating.

I was insinuating that Pels fans over here won’t be happy unless our 2 superstars take over the game and dominate from start to finish. Basketball is a team game and it’s a lot easier to focus on shutting down BI and Zion when they’ve got Dyson, a rookie who has been very hot and very cold, and a damn statue who plays well against like 4 teams in the starting lineup. Sure, it’s a star driven league but when one of the teams biggest contributors (Matt Ryan) was a FA like a month ago. It shouldn’t be hard to understand why Z and BI can’t carry a squad of bums. You add Trey and CJ to the mix, spacing opens up for Z and BI’s drives, kick outs start. Then maybe the sky will stop falling

Great offensive players can't be shut down or even close to it.

Idc to argue w you but we’re like 10% of the way through the season and you’re running around like a chicken with his head chopped off over something you have no control over. I love my Pels but it really ain’t that important brotha

Opp 2 pt%: 67.86%
Opp 3 pt%: 41.25%
Def Rtg: 129.83 (would be worst in league by 9 points)

I don't think you can compare these apples to apples. Our backup bigs have been way worse than our backup guards.

I think I agree with you in principle but we have seen it happen

I don’t think anyone would argue Dame isn’t a great offensive player and Jrue shut him down

Herb shut down Shai for 2/4 games last year

Jesus Christ you can’t use +/- numbers this early into the season. Do you realize we were like + 20 for any of the guys who played last night in the fourth quarter; do you know how in ten games that distorts things. Starters on our team right now are playing teams who have starting lineups that aren’t missing two starters and key subs that play big minutes. We’ve gotten waxed in most games because we’re missing key starters and several other rotation players. If you want to use your eyes and say that our two “stars”
Don’t seem to play well together that’s legit. If you want to say neither one plays defense worth a shite that’s legit. This plus minus crap right now is misleading because we are getting our arse kicked because we are fielding a squad that simply is overmatched on a nightly basis.

This drives me crazy. Why we continue to not do this makes no sense.

The thing is Ingram doesn’t suck.

He’s very good at what he likes to do, what he likes to do is outdated and is not efficient basketball.

I will say though last night was far better and exactly what we need from him.

Yup exactly. Now the question is can he keep playing this? If he can then he takes his game to another level and the BI trade talk dies down. Staying healthy and playing like this will be key for him.

He played essentially the same way he's played all year. But we won, most everyone played really well and with effort, so now last night is the way he needs to play (even though he played pretty much the same way he has played all year). You guys are priceless. The ends justify the means.

Oh ok, you looked at the box score and didn’t actually watch the game.

Makes sense
