We still need someone to play center.

And we can find a serviceable one for a little bit cheaper.

Houston was trying to dump Scola?

they just signed him last year and then he had a career year. How many players can you say that about, esp in the NBA?

I mean i am not in love with his contract either, but come on. It's not that bad.

It's not bad at all.

He's a very good player. Better than West.

Letting Paul walk. Getting no value is better than getting negative value.

The intial whining was the one's who really wanted Curry/Gordon... but they've slowly come around.

This is a very good return for Paul... even w/o an Iggy do to follow. This could be a low seeded playoff team. I'd go watch them.

I agree. The only player that is not overpaid in the deal is Dragic, and he's a FA next summer.

Which package was that?

Everything I heard said Gordon was never an option, and they balked at giving up Jordan, so I don't know which package you're referring to.

Nobody is expecting a $20M payroll, but next year is supposed to be the next good FA year and we just priced ourselves out of it.

LINK to a trade that would have been FIYA

quote:

Hornets get: Westbrook, Ibaka, Iguodala

Thunder get: Paul, West

76ers get: Harden, Nate Robinson

You just confirmed that you are a fricking idiot. Go become a Laker fan where 90% of their fans don't know shite about the NBA.

I'm up in the air pending the other moves we (need to) make.

Don't think it makes the Hornets "better." I think that's a undersell of what Paul brings to a team.

It does give some roster flexibility and depth.

It's not an awful deal, but I would have liked more young pieces to actually build around. But again, if this deal allows us to move some other pieces to get younger guys, then I'll be less concerned.

eta: I understand that Paul's value is only as much as people are willing to pay, and I think this deal is an obvious sign that the GSW and LAC were unwilling to part with Curry and Gordon respectively.

Have you even looked at the contracts before making this proclamation? 3 of the 4 are overpaid, 2 of them grossly. The other only has a year left. There are serious problems with this trade. I hope I'm proven wrong, but this is way too Posey.

We had 5 players under contract and a payroll of 43 million. This year's minimum is 46 million.

Your answer makes no sense.

dude get real lester. deandre jordan and bledsoe have a shite ton of potential. kamans done is done after this year and they would have taken oak too. and minnesota first round pick. like i said people dont wanna fricking play here. you gotta draft them and by taking two of those five players you actually gives hornets fans hope. think we can contend with what we are getting? frick no. we need to blow it up and start over.
