re: If We Get Lakers #4 Pick, Who Do We Take?

The knock on Reddish aren't his measureables or his talent--it's his drive and motor. That's troubling because you see any number of guys with a good vertical and a huge wingspan who don't make it in the NBA because they don't have the want to.
Agree the 4th pick is wide open. All the possibilities have some downside. Love the idea of a scoring point like Garland to pair with Jrue, but questions persist about his basketball IQ and whether he's an iso chucker who won't be able to run an NBA team. Personally really like Coby White but he isn't an exceptional athlete and his wingspan is shorter than his height, something you rarely see in an elite NBA prospect. Agree that Hunter seems like he'll just be a good defender with limited upside and Culver's ceiling isn't that high either. This were I'm glad we have new talent evaluators in who can make this call, or, a it seems to be the case, look to move the pick if they don't love any of these guys.

The Lakers deal is like trading a brand new Ferrari for a Honda Civic, a Toyota Corolla, a Kia Santa Fe, and a Chevy Malibu. It might be more cars, but in the end, all those cars suck!
Perfect analogy
Please tweet that at the official Pels twitter and see if they retweet it.

Bol Bol. If he stays healthy, that kid has the tools to be a star.

His stock is all over the place from 9-31 is where I've seen him.
I could see ATL landing he and Reddish, 2 guys with huge upside both with could very well drop below their talent level

It's Hyundai Santa Fe, which is good because PelicansNBA is not going to retweet anything disparaging to a league sponsor (Kia).

NBC Sports’ write up on him had the headline “He’s going to get someone fired one way or another”.
He basically has measurables that everyone drools over but there are a lot of questions about his frame, his foot, his work ethic / drive, etc.

Trade down with ATL (draft whomever they want) to take Brandon Clarke at either #8 or #10 + a future 1st (2020 Cavs 1-10 protected or 2022 OKC lotto protected)
Clarke + Zion will be a hyper modern and flexible frontcourt to run teams out of the gym.

Lol. The Ferrari also has a balloon payment coming, and we don’t have a way to pay for it.
All genius

If the Pelicans end up with the #4 I would seriously consider trading it away for future picks or trade down for multiple picks.

i'd take Culver... his perimeter defense would be a much needed asset to this squad when we lose AD....

Can he shoot? We need D and 3pt shooting spacers
Hunter seems to fit the mold, and somebody said Virginia lost 1st round last year without Hunter, then won the whole thing this year with him....

I wasn’t high on Hunter at first, but I’ve come around. I’m leaning either him or Garland (if Garland blew our socks off in a workout)

Garland is best shooter among the top players in this draft. Pels have to build around Zion.

Culver shot 38% from 3 as a freshman. His shooting will come around

We not getting the 4th... Boston does not own that...

I see what you did there. At the end of the day, I think it’s going to be Boston too. A package with Tatum as the prize. I just hope Griffin doesn’t blink and we get as many assets as we can.

At 4 I'd take Hunter, defensive player of the year in the ACC, 43% from 3, has a low post and mid range game with a 7ft wing down. But my favorite player outside Zion is Bol Bol. If he played the whole season he would've been a top 5 pick easily.

Garland looks like a young Steph Curry and Hunter looks like a young Kawhi and Culver reminds me of Klay. I think Gentry can get the best out of all three with his offensive mind. I think Culver and Garland pair better with Zion, but we desperately need a scoring PG like Garland to take pressure off of Jrue.
