If we end up with 3 then I’m doing all I can to jump one spot for Harper. I would gladly give them #3 plus the Indy 1st we got in the BI trade. I just don’t see Bailey as a fit and while the kid from Baylor is intriguing, Harper is the guy to pair with Zion in this draft, even more than Flagg possibly.

Harper is the 2nd best player in the draft today, but I would be surprised if VJ is the 2nd best player in 3 years.

Will it matter, it’s the Pelicans. They’ll fudge it up and then the guy will leave in year 5ish. Same ol story

Edgecombe. And he's very much a Griffin pick: high character, defense mindset, athleticism and skill. I'm sure they would ship the pick for win now players (LaMelo?) then just take their guy VJ at 3.

Edgecombe scares me. Small guard who’s not a PG and has a questionable shot(he’s shooting good this year but historically he’s not a great shooter). I think his closest comp is probably Donovan Mitchell? Though I think Mitchell had a way better handle and offensive bag than edgecombe in college. People have thrown out Oladipo but oladipo was bigger than edgecombe.

I just think there’s a way clearer path for a guy like Bailey becoming an NBA star. 6’10, athletic, can shoot, and rebound.

I just pray we can get Harper if we don’t get Flagg. He’s the dream pick of very high upside while also filling a huge need for the pels.

What would be the comp? Are you sure that he can fill out?

I don't want to take a project. I admit he could become a Superstar and burst out. It's just a huge gamble..

Bailey has what some consider to be the highest upside of anyone just because of his crazy scoring ability

He just has massive massive holes in his game. Dude has a poor handle, doesn't dish out assists at all, and isn't a good defender.

But he can flat out score

VJ is starting to get serious buzz. Has gotten better as the season has gone on. I'm seeing people say he could go 2

Edgecomb has no shot at #2. Cooper and Harper are pretty much locks at 1-2.

Edgecomb would have to measure out to be a legit 6'6 for him to make that kind of leap. There's rumors that he's really only 6'4 which would limit his ceiling a bit.

But out of all the prospect outside of Flagg, he's the type of prospect the Pelicans have historically love.

Yes. Harper is 100% 2.

March Madness could always make someone jump a bit, especially since Rutgers won’t be playing in it.

The current 2 and 3 guy on the board won’t have those spotlight games as a result.

I've heard that Harper is much smaller than listed too. Maybe that causes him to slide back a spot or two as well..

He's 6'5" 185, and h'es 19 years old. That's not small.
What do you mean "historically not a great shooter"? he's shooting 36% from 3 as a freshman. No one cares what he did in high school.

I'd be happy with any of the top 4 guys. I hope we don't somehow fall into the #5 pick or worse. I'd almost rather just trade the pick at that point.

Edgecombe has a short wingspan for his height. Needs to practice on his dribbling and play making. Hustle and hard working player though. Was a beast for the Bahamas Olympic team

I go for the risk and go for Ace Bailey though

I think we'd run into the same line up issues we had with Ingram. Neither Bailey or Murphy are physical enough to play the 4 extended minutes. So we end up playing small. At least now it looks like they have finally accepted Zion as a wing (SG/SF). We could maybe make it work if we had a more dominant big. It would just take a lot of tinkering.

I wouldn't be opposed. We just need a plan to make it work.
