re: If going big fails, what small moves should the Pels be looking at?

My preference has always been Satoransky. However, with Wall out and he and Beal doing their thing again, the Wiz might be reluctant to trade him now.I am 100% against trading the 1st for depth or wasting value to dump players.
One name for going kind of big for the Pels that I have not seen thrown around is Aaron Gordon. He has a cost controlled declining contract locked in for 3 more years ($20M, $18M, $16.5M) and is only 23.
He is playing out of position a bit in Orlando with Bamba, Isaac, and Vuc on one of the slowest offenses in the league. He would be a monster in transition, but more importantly it would allow us to lean a bit more into our defensive identity and provide another rim protector/rebounder. He has the lateral quickness and motor to stay with larger 3's too.
I wonder what the Magic would ask for him.
Pels: Aaron Gordon, Terrance Ross
Magic: Solo, Johnson, Randle or Niko
How many picks are needed to balance this out? Randle or Niko could potentially be routed to a 3rd team to get more value to Orlando.

Are there any potential buyout players that we could have a chance to get?

If a guy is even halfway decent, other teams will be after him and that means the Pelicans aren't getting him. Just like with Belly last year, who Dell tried to get. Heck, couldn't even get a scrub like Greg Monroe

Yep, theres already talk that Robin Lopez is pressuring the Bulls to buy him out so he can go to the Warriors..
Pathetic how the new NBA is

I don't understand why the Pels wouldn't do Bazemore, Lin, and Prince for Solo, Johnson, Moore, and Kenrich with our pick. I'd make that trade now to get the depth and win these next few games.

Thats how the NBA has always been. Why would a guy take a buyout and go to a team that might not even make the playoffs? The only point in getting a buyout is to go somewhere where you have a chance to get to the Finals

If the Wizards say Beal is off the table then this is the trade that I would do. Gives us a decent bench which has been struggling. I would think they would want Jackson instead of Kenrich.

I’d think RoLo wouldn’t mind coming back here in a vacuum.
I think there are some small market GMs who might do New Orleans a solid after they expressed disdain for the Lakers bs a month ago.
If James Jones can be sending his buddy players, then teams who don’t like the Lakers practices could do the same.

I think that a healthy Rodney Hood or Taurean Prince would have been worth 5 wins already. If either can be had for minimal assets, than I think they would be great moves. In Prince's case, getting next year for next to nothing is worth giving up a first if you don't have to take back bazemore. Neither Hood nor Prince would be hard to move on from if it didn't work.
Also, if nothing big happens at the deadline, I would be closely monitoring Washington leading up to the draft. If they continue to play like they are with the Sato/Beal backcourt, they will be doing everything to move Wall. I don't care about money or attitude if Solomon Hill and Wes Johnson can get you an all star talent.

Wall's problem is not his attitude, it's his injuries.. You're likely going to be paying 40+ million a year to a guy that cant stay on the court.. I wouldn't touch his contract if they took Hill and gave us a 1st

It’s both. Your injuries don’t make you go from one of the fastest players with ball, to a player who walks around the court off ball so much that he moves at one of the slowest paces in the league.
Wall doesn’t like being off ball. In addition to accruing injuries he seems to be incredibly disinterested in playing winning basketball.

So why would they just give him up if he’s been balling?

Did you not read the tweet?
They had to send him back to the G-League because they cant work out a deal with him
