I don't understand why the Pels wouldn't do Bazemore, Lin, and Prince for Solo, Johnson, Moore, and Kenrich with our pick. I'd make that trade now to get the depth and win these next few games.

Here's my home run swing: Thoughts?

Yeah, I like it. It's pretty decent with Randle staying as a one dimensional threat off the bench during the middle of games.

However, what would Washington's response be to this:

Beal, Morris, Satoransky -- for Randle, Solo, Wes, Diallo, Clark, and Jackson. They get two young-ish prospects plus a centerpiece with Randle. Obviously, Pels would include this years 1st rounder, but would Washington want another pick?
Yeah I agree. He seems to have way better ball handling skills and playmaking ability though. Also a great rebounder.
Right, so assume we're flipping him for Hill instead. Do you do it? He seems to fit into Gentry ball pretty well.
How would you make that work? Financially?
Hill is on the hook for two years as well.
Saw Kumar on Twitter talking about MKG. With his Kentucky connection to Davis, I could see this happening ... what do people think of him replacing Hill? How do people feel about his game? Is there a way to get him by just trading Ajinca, Okafor, and Liggins?
LINK ][Begley] Several opposing executives say the Toronto Raptors remain motivated to shed salary via trade following the Kawhi Leonard deal earlier this week.

What do you all think of a trade like Solo/Ajinca/Diallo for Powell/Miles? I think that might help us on the wing. Diallo gets to continue his development in Toronto. It ties up our cap flexibility next offseason, sure, but I think it would help the team go farther in the playoffs this year.
Except, aren't they well into the tax? Resigning him will cost them a lot more than his salary.
Unless we trade for Jimmy Butler, and he resigns here like Paul George in OKC, he won't come in FA. Don't forget Kyrie had asked to be traded to Chicago to play with his friend.

I see those two teaming up somewhere, possibly with KD.
You're really onto something. He does have some value, but not much. I think a lot of teams wouldn't even look at him after the fiasco in the playoffs. For the Pels, he is a risk worth taking.

Don't forget he has an injury history as well. He gets "nervous stomach" on game days. I remember him sitting out a couple games last season for it.
Interesting. Would you do Solomon Hill & Alexis Ajinca for George Hill and Rodney Hood? We'd be taking on the worse contract, but it's a bigger expiring next summer. He could also help our depth at PG.
Also, wouldn't the most money we could offer him, per year, is the value of the Q-Pon exception, $3.8mil? That doesn't tie up really any of our cap space heading into next summer.
I just figure, we saw Julius Randle fall into our laps because LA renounced his rights.

Bulls renounced Nwaba.

This seems to be happening more now than I remember in recent years. Actual rotation players, too.

I assume it's GMs working, coordinating with agents to give these players the best opportunity to succeed.

With Hood being so public about wanting to play for another team, it seems like a move to get Cleveland to renounce him or, at least, trade him. I mean, it's been two-plus weeks of FA, and no one is signing him to an offer sheet, including CLE.
HA, I mean, seeing how active this board is, I was surprised.
New to this board. A lot guys active here, but are you also on r/NOLAPelicans on reddit? Seems like that would be a more popular site for frequent Pels chatting. Anyway ...

I want to bring this up here because I did not see much about it:

Rodney Hood liked some Instagram comments about playing for/joining the Pelicans. I think this would be a great addition to our team, but I assume he would want more money and/or years than we could sign him for using our trade exceptions.

My questions are: with actions like the instagram stuff, and his infamous 2018 playoff run, why would Cleveland want him back? He doesn't want to play there, clearly.

Why wouldn't they make him an UFA?

If you're the Pelicans, his ability to run, create his own shot, and his length, make him a fantastic candidate for the Small Forward position. Why not make a stronger push for him?
