Its clear he and the team are working on an extension right now as per Scoop he has stayed in town for a bit. My question is who winds up getting the shaft if BI signs an extension?

We obv wouldnt have to worry about it this season but next offseason would be a whirlwind to say the least. More than likely either CJ or Herb would have to go (maybe even both).

I just wonder sometimes is the juice worth the squeeze to put it in a way.

When his contract expires, only players who have contracts left are Zion, CJ (last year), and Dyson Daniels (team option)…so why are we worried about his extension?

Its not unusual for players to start extension negotiations a year out from contract year

But go head king go off.

BI for Simons (trade for center), Sharpe, Scoot. Who says no?

I can see Herb taking Nance money and Murphy taking JV/Temple money.

I saw this and if the big was Turner I do this trade 10/10 Times

1) You get controllable assets for at least 3 years
2) You get a soft reset.
3) You dont pay the tax
4) You tell Zion this is your last rodeo and better do what you can with it.
5) Sharpe/Scoot/Trey with Zion/Turner HOLY SHIEEETTTT

Plus we’d still have CJ, Larry, Herb. CJ can mentor the young guards

Blazers seem really desperate. They’ll overpay for BI.

Why is it clear? I'm confused here.

I don't agree with your take but you want BI over CJ/Herb 10 out of 10 times.

When that BI extension kicks in, we'll be at the elevated cap.

No way we trade BI. Especially how he’s been training in New Orleans every day.

JV and Temple contract is around 21million already.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but this seems about as loose of a connection as when I wondered if JV still being in town a a few weeks ago meant anything for his trade status.

I wish I was Garrett Temple. The amount of money he is making to be a cheerleader.

Smart business if indeed this is the case. You time the extension around Zion’s expiration to avoid losing cost control in BI’s expiring year. You pay Herb and have the upcoming year as a prove it for the team and use as a pivot when it’s time to pay TM3. I’d also sign Hayes to use his or Nance’s salary in a mid year deal.
