I have no idea anymore what value players have - Zion related

You have some proposed trades giving us absolute garbage like Tobias Harris, Ron Holland, 2027 first-round pick, 2029 first-round pick LOL
I'd rather just keep Zion and he never plays again than that trash.
Then you have past trades like the insanity given up for Gobert, Durant, etc.
But now we see superstars like Luka traded for much less.
I don't even know what a realistic trade for Zion would look like.
Are the days of 5-6 picks and swaps over forever?
Did Nico Harrison forever change the market?

Luka got Dallas AD and a 1st. That would be the equivalent of a good young player and multiple 1sts IMO, kind of like the return we got for AD. Not KD level return but still alot

The one that messed up everything is the Bridges trade. Him going for 5 1sts and a swap is crazy.

Wait... what?
You think a good, young controllable player is worth less than AD on the downside of his prime?

Probably dead until 2030 because Utah, OKC, Houston and San Antonio own half the goddamn picks or control them with swaps.
Most teams have already mortgaged their futures and they are seeing how fricked Milwaukee and Phoenix are because of it.

With the new tax aprons, you will see teams more invested in keeping the 1sts. I honestly think Giannis will only get the Bucks 2-3 1sts

After the AD/Luka trade...I would rather be Dallas than LA. Assuming everybody on both teams can get...and stay... fairly healthy next season...I think that, by playoff time, Mavs will be a better team than the Lakers.
Luka is HUGELY overrated. I can't see LeBron wanting to play another season with him...unless the Lakers can somehow come up with some major addition to their team.

The crazy thing is, that first trade you suggested has a lot of unbiased NBA fans saying the Pistons should say no to that deal lol.
I always try to be unbiased when evaluating Zion. But even I wouldn’t trade him for that particular haul.
If I were the Pelicans, I’d actually do everything in my power to send him to the Grizz, Rockets or Spurs as a Trojan horse type deal
We know that he is an immature sack of shite with a ton of baggage and shitty habits. We know his medicals are probably pretty bad. Why not trade him in division, make a rival give up assets for him and then have him implode their franchise, like he has imploded ours for the past 6 years?
