Thanks for the links. I like the trade before, but only have Warrick on the books for one year, and not giving up much else makes this a really good trade.

LOL who here has ever said he was a borderline all-star?

And if Rivers will ever be an NBA caliber 1, which I am very skeptical about, it sure as hell isn't going to be for a year or two, at least.
Vasquez has something Jack does not. Potential. Look at the real numbers last year. The Hornets were better with Vasquez on the court than Jack. Jack was the classic sexy scoring numbers guy on a terrible team. They were better WITHOUT him playing.
He was a good guy and is a good backup but seriously, no big loss. Vasquez could prove to be a capable starter. Borderline All Star? No way, but neither was Jack.

Depending on how much we signed Lopez for, I like this deal. As long as its <$5m I'm happy.
Warrick should be able to dealt if he is pretty much an expiring right?
Who is Minny trying to sign?

Paul Coro: Done deal isn't imminent but there's truth to @Adrian Wojnarowski reporting that PHX will send Lopez to NO & get W. Johnson & 1st-rounder from MIN.

very, very good deal for the Hornets. The days of the walrus seem like ages ago

I believe Warrick's deal does in fact have a 2013-2014 team option that has not been exercised.
Checked with Valley of the Suns.

the presumed deal as it looks thus far
Hornets get (from PHX):
Lopez
Warrick
Suns get (from MIN):
MIN 1st rd pick
Wesley Johnson
Wolves get (from NOH):
Contract of Brad Miller
Dyson
Draft pick(s)
The Wolves are up to something.

Definitely clearing room to make some type of a deal.

They were prepared to give up 2 1sts and Derrick Williams for Batum, why not do the same for Iggy? That's part of why I'm not too concerned about this deal stopping us from making moves, because the Hornets just don't have enough spare trade assets to put in a winning bid on guys everyone around the league wants.

The above statememt about Miller to Minne seems correct. There could be loopholes regarding him retiring or being nonguaranteed. There could also be a flaw or omission in the reporting.
This will develop.
We have to clear some space, however, and his nonguaranteed portion isn't enough.

Several league executives believe Minnesota is pursuing free agent Andrei Kirilenko. He's no longer considering Brooklyn, sources say.

I would rather Wesley Johnson than either of those guys honestly. I don't know how the salaries line up, but Johnson and Lopez would be a better combo for us
Vasquez
Gordon
Johnson
Anderson
Davis
Rivers, Aminu, Lopez, Miller, Smith, Henry off the bench.

I'm sure most teams would like to get the best two assets out of a three team trade, but that isn't possible. In order to get that, we would need to give out more than we did in the current trade, so the line up you posted most likely would not happen.

Wes Johnson is a total and complete bust. He was god awful on the court. PER, everything. Awful.
Lopez and Warrick (if expiring) are far more valuable to this team. We needed size desperately.

A month or two ago everyone was joking that it seemed like Minnesotas goal was to become the whitest team in the NBA. Seems as if the TWolves are taking it one step further and trying to become the first all white NBA team in who knows how many years, lol
