Good news with Buddy, friend was at the facility yesterday and Buddy went through a hard hour and a half workout and the coaches said alright thats it for today. And he was like lets do it again. And the coaches replied whoa dont overdue it. He was like can i shoot and they said yeah. So he put up 100 3 pt shots and made 75. Then did it again and made 64. He asked what the record was and they said 84. He replied I'll have that beat before the season starts.

Work ethic is everything and this kid has a chance to be really special because of this. Change the culture!

You really need to give the hate a rest. It has gotten beyond old and you are starting to sound like a pouty child.

I'm not hating seriously I want to see him play before they rave about this. I have Austin Rivers flash backs when I hear about no way he can fail with that work ethic. Just called me scorned.

I am not disagreeing with you, I do not remember the Rivers hype about his work ethic. I remember everybody saying he had a very high Basketball IQ bc his dad is Coach

The difference between the Buddy work ethic is where he came from. The drive you have to have to make it out of poverty like he was in says a lot about the person.

I guess but the 2 best players in the NBA are Stephen who grew up like Austin and Lebron who grew up like Buddy. I hope he works to expand his game more than he improves what he's already great at. That's why I was glad to hear Gentry say he won't be just a scorer.

I don't remember the Austin Rivers work ethic talk either, and i wasn't a big fan of drafting him. Kid can't shoot and his form is atrocious. If he could finish at the rim better, he'd be a good nba player b/c he can get by anyone with his predictable crossover that few seem to be able to stay in front of.

and who hit 84 out of 100 threes? Ryno or EG? How far back does it go? Peja?

Austin Rivers has work ethic but he was also garbage. There is a difference between working hard to gain the skills and working hard with the skills and making them better. Stop comparing the two. Matter of fact, Do yourself a favor and don't go to threads involving hield.

Austin Rivers and Kobe Bryant both have elite work ethic. That sums up how much that skill helps predict success

It is something you would rather have than not, but it is 5% of the total equation, at most.

Holiday, Heild, and Davis are going to be a solid trio. Just need to surround them with competent role players.

I remember the Rivers' work ethic hype and you're right they are similar. One thing that is different is that Buddy actually has talent to go along with his work ethic. Rivers had holes at every level of his game and not even a a great work ethic can overcome that. I'm not saying Hield is a perfect prospect by any means but to compare him to Rivers seems unfair.

Playing Devils Advocate, Rivers was considered a top 2 prospect coming out of HS, had a much better Fresh season than Hield. So to say Hield had better raw talent is at least debateable

Yeah and Rivers's dad probably maximized his talent at a young age since he is considered a top coach in the NBA.

Heild didn't grow up with that type of coaching or resources I would guess.

If I am the Pels, I put him through the ball handling drills Steph goes through every day. If he has any chance of being an All Star, his handling has to go from good to great
