Are we sure he can handle it?

Miracle! Joy to the World! Merry Christmas! He is playing a back to back.

So they finally realized it’s not worth putting him in bubble wrap?

When he comes off the bench and only plays 25 minutes, then yeah, he can definitely play in a B2B. This isn't about a change from the training staff or about a decision from Zion -- it's about Borrego using Zion to maximum effect.

This is a Dumars change. In the past, the Pelicans would always play it safe rest against an eastern conference opponent especially on a road b2b and would sit multiple players and call it a scheduled loss.

All hands on deck is certainly new. And makes me happy we will likely see everyone against Phoenix on the important b2b after Christmas.

Hey do y'all think it's the team or Zion requesting to not play?

We've heard in the past that Zion could go and said he could go but the team made him sit. That's an issue with me off rip because he should demand to play, but maybe bro just doesn't want to ruffle feathers.

The last 2 injuries didn't happen on the court or in any way we can see. Is Zion just speaking on minor discomfort and the team is making him sit out or do you think he is the main person requesting to sit out?

Idk man. shite has been weird for 6 years.

JB spoke on this in a presser a week or two ago, basically saying Z has such a high pain tolerance that he doesn’t realize he injured himself until usually the next day or two. So that could play a huge factor into the team being cautious with him also

Yeah uh, that’s not how strained or pulled muscles work. Or knee injuries, or ankle injuries, or foot injuries.
The vast majority of basketball injuries are not pain tolerance related injuries. they are injuries that limit a physical ability. Just b/c you can suck it up and play on a sprained ankle doesn’t mean you didn’t know you sprained your ankle.

Adrenaline does alot for a person and hides alot and would have you thinking you’re fine until you come down from that adrenaline high.
