c'mon man, you're better than this.
so you are not going to mention this 6'10" guy shot 39% from 3 last season?
Only played in 57 games, yet he made more 3's in that season that Zeller has in his 10 year career?

We don't need shooting right?

Now do defense...If you think Zeller isn't terribly good on D, wait til you see Saric.

And here's the rub on 3pt shooting. Saric isn't spacing out a defense. He can knock down a 3, but teams aren't changing a defense for this. They're not giving Zion more space because they fear Saric shooting a 3. And ultimately, with the 3, he's still less efficient at getting the ball in the hoop as Zeller.

I don't know what you see him, he's a well below avg basketball player.
They're absolutely in the same tier of mediocre 3rd big on a team. Different skill sets, basically same dude in terms of impact made, which isn't much.

Neither one of them are any good, nor will either make a difference on this team.
But don't try and convince yourself or me that Zeller is a better or equal basketball player than Dario Saric.

I guess you'd say that Gallinari is just as bad as those two as well since defenses aren't going to give Zion more space simply b/c Gallo is standing out on the 3 point line.

You know what won't happen? Zeller doing anything on offense for us other than trying to get an offensive rebound put back while clogging the lane for Zion and everyone else.
I'd gladly take a guy that you know will shoot 40% when wide open for 3 sitting on the 3 point line while Zion kicks it out to him, as opposed to Zion having to muscle his way through his man and Zeller's man.

Same mediocre tier dudes.

Gallo and Saric, not comparable as to how good of a player they are. Zeller and Saric, very comparable as to how good a player they are.

Zeller is not the kind of player we want on the court with Zion, regardless if he was deemed decent or terrible.

Saric is the kind of player we want on the court with Zion, b/c Zion can utilize Saric's skillset to his advantage.

There is nothing Zion can do to make Zeller better, and nothing Zeller can do to make Zion better.
If Saric makes 2 out of every 5 kickouts for wide open 3's, he makes Zion better. simple as that. and you know that. You can say the defense won't care all you want. Fine by me and everyone else when we have a guy hitting wide open 3's at a 40% clip.

i agree he's mediocre, but guys like Zion can make mediocre guys better, IF they have the skillset to benefit from Zion.

I haven't had a good stupid argument in a while.
I guess i've made enough dumb arguments for one day.

I am low key excited for this year though. I'm not getting overly excited like i have the last 4 or 5 years or whatever it's been b/c i've been let down to many times, but we do have a roster that can win a playoff series i think, and i do think we do something this trade deadline to strengthen our team.

I think we did do something. We got Zion to finally buy in and become a real professional. I don’t think the Pels need to do much more than that b/c we proved that as long as Zion is healthy we can compete with damn near any team in the west. Now if this year goes to hell then next offseason will be time to make moves.

I agree. The fact that we've recently had bad injury luck just proves that we're due!

I have looked into the crystal ball, and it says that Zion and BI both play over 60 games. The basketball gods have heard our cries, and verily, they have inclined their hearts towards our laments.

tAthletic: grading each team's offseason moves (and non-moves)

quote:

New Orleans Pelicans
Grade: C+

This grade has nothing to do with roster moves. Going into the summer, the team’s No. 1 priority was to get (and stay) healthy, and that mission is already off to a rough start. Trey Murphy is likely to miss the first month of the regular season after knee surgery, and Jose Alvarado may not be ready for the start of the season after a suffering a severe ankle sprain at a workout. The good news is Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram are expected to be full participants once training camp begins. Nothing will be more important for this team than the health of its two stars. As long as those guys are good to go, New Orleans will be one of the most dangerous teams in the West. But the loss of Murphy and Alvarado will make the path early much rockier than expected. — Will Guillory

Don't forget we let Ingram get some extra miles on the tires to look bad on Team USA

I think that will help BI's durability because I believe SVG and Paul George are right in that practicing hard hardens your body for the regular season. BI playing real basketball for a month was a good thing IMO. It's not like he got beat to hell like JV did last summer. And even though JV getting beaten to hell all summer might have made him half a step slower during the season, which wasn't good, he was an iron man which backs up the old school theory on load management.

And this post was down voted 4 times LMAO. This forum is legit making me dumber at this point.

But I was told 80-90 percent of people on this forum believe agree with my stances about this team.

Bro, do yourself a favor and stop going back and forth with people on here. It's a waste of time since most people here are delusional and think what you are saying is wild lol.

Another smart response addressed to a short sited dumb response that was voted high.

Seriously I don't understand how you guys have the patience to try to have serious debates here. You responded with great thought out info and get down voted, while Dan responds back with childish insults and throws out the word "dramatic" 18 times and gets upvoted.

Wtf lol.

Why do you pay attention to votes?

Say what you want and believe, let the chips fall wherever they land. You obviously like going against the crowd. That is not going to be popular. Complaining about votes just makes you look weak. I don't even look most times anymore..

It shows the circle jerk stats this board has. Could care less if I'm liked here but when "serious debates" is had votes can be revealing of how many people are dumbasses

Could just be people that don't like you or are holding a grudge about something you said before. I'm still getting heat from some stuff I said about Ingram a couple of years ago. It's random. A few months ago I said something really innocuous and I ended with like a 100 upvotes for some reason. I didn't get it..
