JJ had the best +/- on the night at +12 so the gravity he created was obviously helpful as he didn't take a shot last night to contribute any direct help.

He also played a lot when Lebron was out of the game lol.

People blaming coaching are really not giving enough credit to the Lakers.

i feel like they were passing on open 3's early in the clock, which in a vacuum is good offense. against the lakers i think you have to let it fly

To be fair, it is likely being primary defender of LBJ impacted his performance on O.

Pels lost last night because of two stretches: the shaky start and the end stretch in the fourth. Both sequences had all three of Ingram/Zion/Favors on the court. They're too easy for the Lakers to defend with those three out there. I'd expect a ton of Melli in a playoff series.

Just reinforces the consensus on here that Favors is just a better option coming off the bench. Starting lineup every night should be Melli and Zion not Favors and Zion

Which is just dumb. Favors may not be flashy, and he may not be a guy that you want to play 30 minutes a night against every opponent, but like I've always said, if you don't recognize what Favors means for this team then you don't understand basketball.

The Pelicans are damn good any time Zion is on the court, regardless of who he is on the court with, but Zion and Favors are one of the better 2 man combos the Pelicans have.

They've played 194 minutes together, and have a net rating of 13.8, which is 3rd highest on the team. They have a 97.9 drtg which is also top 3 on the team, and a rebound rate of 57%, which leads the team.

Zion and Melli are really good as well, with a net rating of 11.1, but their drtg is at 105.1 and their rebound rate is 50%, which is one of the worst on the team.

Favors also has the second highest plus-minus on court/off court differential on the team, trailing only Zion at +9.2. The next closest is Jrue at +2.4 for comparisons sake.

I think criticism of his offense last night is very fair. He was playing hero/heat check ball and acting like he was feeling it when he clearly wasn't. I know the Lakers were taking away passing lanes, but he should have been much less aggressive and played within the flow of the game. Zion and Ingram should be the only players with the green light to force the action on offense.

He seems to have done that when we have played the Lakers. Not sure if he is trying to prove something to AD, but he seems to want to "show his stuff" against them.
