Athletic article:

quote:

It’s kind of one of those pick your poison (plays),” Williamson said. “I’ll kind of tell CJ, (Jordan Hawkins), Trey, whoever it is on the court, to stay right there (behind the 3-point line). If they send the double-team, I’m going to make the right play.”

The attention Williamson demands opens up the floor for every teammate, but McCollum, in particular, is the player who can generate the most space for Williamson by mastering the pair’s two-man game and being in the right spots when defenses crowd the paint too much. Green doesn’t always have to design plays from the bench. He can let two of his best players work off each other and figure it out on the fly.

Not sure what was going on in the 1st half. Zion did make a bunch of solid passes but he seriously lacked aggression.

One thing I really liked seeing is that even after the disastrous start to the 3rd for Zion(which, if we're being honest, all it was was just shots not falling, not really bad decision making) it didn't deter Zion even a little bit.

He was ultra aggressive the entire 2nd half and didn't let the slow start stop him at all.

The offense was clicking pretty well as he was making them pay for lazy doubles and rotations. They adjusted a bit in the second half, then Zion spotted Plumlee and took over.

I think he can still get better fitness-wise, but that was the most engaged on defense I think I've ever seen from Zion.

I think he has everything he needs to be December Zion, but even though he's been solid lately, his play is nowhere near December Zion.

And I mean from a coaching and a Zion standpoint. He hasn't been that good when he does have the chances, but he's also not being given the keys yet.

He’s in a lot better shape than 2 months ago. Is he in the shape to make sure he has a long lasting all star caliber career? No, but hopefully he gets there some day.

We are a good first quarter against the lakers on Friday from me declaring us the title favorites.

Rounding into less round shape.

Baby steps.... Baby steps. Let's keep him healthy and give him a taste of postseason basketball. Him being healthy when the season ends will be huge going into his offseason program.

I, for one, LOVE watching Point Zion almost as much as I love watching Taysom Hill play QB. It’s just an exciting and entertaining experience no matter what happens.

All I can watch are the 10 min highlite reels but the passing on this team looks legit and Zion is young and will only get better. Compared to the rest of the NBA are they considered overall a good or top passing team?

We're 11th in the league with 27 per game, but the last 3 games we've average 31.7, which would be number one in the league.

Well Taysom Hill is an awful quarterback so you obviously dislike watching Zion play

If Zion continues to get in better shape he could just be our starting point guard

Like not he takes over point throughout games but he just is a point guard. It frees up the potential of Trey, BI, Herb, and Zion to all start together in the future as well if/when CJ declines or we have to trade him

It honestly looks like his conditioning is approaching where it was last year, but his weight is still higher. Oddly enough, he looked slimmer a couple weeks ago against the Jazz. Maybe the bruised foot set him
Back a smidge.

I been saying this for games lol. He was the slimmest he's been all season against Utah, he was as fluffy as he's been since the Tournament last night. It's a daily thing with him and I assume it's mostly water weight that comes and goes. It's easy as hell to see if you watch him every game. His face and shoulders will have all kinds of fluff to it one game and he will be looking lean 2 games later.

He was definitely fast and energetic last night though. Great game on both ends.
