I don't see why he would even need to opt in. If Griffin wants to trade him to a team he likes and they want assurances, I am sure Paul can give them some assurances. If Griffin wants to trade him to a team he does not like, but they want assurances, I am sure Paul can tell them AD will not re-sign. Why commit to an opt-in to serve the same purpose? That would move the leverage from Paul to the Pelicans. Why would he do that?

Exactly. It's a fantasy constructed by Crewz intially as a "compromise" between AD and the Pelicans to keep AD in NOLA and give Griff time to prove to AD that the org has changed. Now it has morphed into AD doing it to allow the Pels to trade him where he wants to go, but it makes no sense.

It’s so silly. Guys like Davis have all the leverage in the world. Anyone who even for a second bought in to this fantasy is extremely gullible.

I really hate that a lot of gullible posters were buying into that BS when he kept on insisting this fantasy. There was no way anything like that would happen especially after the power move Davis and his camp made during the season.

Pop had a meeting with Kawhi before he was traded too... what good did it make? Waste of time to be honest.

It's our team and our passion

It's exhausting from that standpoint

It gets a tad tiring

I’d think fans would be happy having a constant topic of conversation this time of year.

The possibilities were fun to think about for a couple months. We've gone round and round now and we really don't have much concrete info or tips about how/where this thing might lead to. Mentally, i'm hitting the point where i want answers. The exhausting part is also coming from knowing that this can drag out that much longer as well.

Any deal is likely in place by the draft, so we are looking at about another 20 days of this shite.

None of it is really new or something that hasn't been discussed ad nauseam

It'll get better as we get closer to the draft and obviously FA/SL

Yeah, I think that we will go right up to draft day. Griffin will get initial offers, rank them, tell the ones not in first place how they can improve their offers, allow inferior offers time to work with 3rd teams to improve their offers, and then pull the trigger the day before the draft.

At least, that's my guess as to how this will play out. I dunno.

Just think though. We have had a ton to talk about, speculate on and proposed trades. Once it is all over, things will get boring up until the season starts.

I’ve been trying to do topics that take a slightly different spin on things but yeah this has gotten old. I’m ready.

I’m tired. Are we a better team with AD? Of course. But at the end of the day I’d rather move on and find guys who want to be here. Not someone who not only hates it here but goes out of his way to make known while still 2 years under contract.
