Yeah we could probably get Herro, Jasquez, and couple of first rounders. I still think for Griffin wouldn’t be enough. He values Ingram very highly.

This is sort of feeling like that season that AD got traded.

Things were clearly not right from the get go and it just got worse, and then we got the trade request.

The difference is, if they don't dig too big of a hole, they can stay afloat until the changes are made. Assuming a healthy core*, trading BI for depth and future assets is addition by subtraction with the way they are playing.

I'm more concerned why is he sooooo out of breath just trying to talk, that doesn't seem normal for a post-game presser.

Thought I read somewhere that he was sick.

The trade request wont come from BI. It’ll be Zion and honestly with his injury history not sure if we would get much. I just think its major mistake to build around a guy who is not superstar level talent. Even with his laziness, Zion is the far superior talent.

I would be looking at Hawks, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Miami, Toronto, Knicks, Utah, OKC, Detroit as likely trade partners.

I do not see Griffin trading BI. He loves him and thinks he is the next Durant.

This. Someone pointed out that the Rockets hit rock bottom and have come out while the Pels are still the same.

Problem is that Griffin tried to be relevant too quickly and wasted too much draft capital on bigs that did not fit (both acquiring them and getting rid of them). He has wasted the majority of what we should have from the AD and Jrue trades.

Yea,I keep seeing names like Herro and Barrett for BI but I don't view those as good value contracts.

If a BI trade were to happen, I'd prefer a high end role player or 2 and assets and maybe an expiring or something along those lines. I wouldn't want to deal BI for a dude making $25+ mil that isn't a really good player.

Remember, we have 1 year of overlap on a Trey extension with CJ's final season. I'd prefer getting off of contracts and keeping CJ 1 additional year than essentially replacing him with a Herro or Barrett.

Which is crazy to think. Kevin Durant is not just a mid range jumper. Hes elite everywhere offensively and plays elite defense when needed. Ingram is abysmal from 3, average at free throws, and below average on D. KD is a MVP and all time great. Ingram is one time all star reserve. Someone needs to wake Griffin the frick up.

Yeah, Trey should be taking BI's place in the starting lineup. There really isn't room for a player making starter money coming back in a trade unless they are a center and JV is going out too.

If they are trading BI, they almost have to take back starter money. Someone like Herro could be CJ's eventual replacement in a couple of years.

you guys, he's not in press conference shape. the only way to get in press conference shape is to do these press conferences. man, stop being so critical.

I'd rather that final year of CJ and let it expire then swapping CJ for Herro and getting 1-2 extra years of Herro.

If Nets would do it I would take Simmons and Claxton with picks for Ingram and Jonas.

Simmons’ contract expires just as Trey’s big extension hits, and I think we could probably keep Ben around at 10 million a year or so after. He rebounds the frick out the ball, plays tenacious defense, and is a willing passer, everything we need out of a 5.

If the experiment doesn’t work out then you let him expire and walk away from him and get that much more room below the tax.

I cant deal with another player with mental issues and long recovery from injuries. Hes like a shitter talent version of BI.

The idea of trading for him from my side is because of his salary.

When he plays he’s still very good, so anything we can get out of him is lagniappe, but for me it’s more about making the room in the starting lineup and the salary slot for Trey.

In an Ingram trade we would have to take back the salary, might as well take back a short term salary of a player that maybe a headcase at times but is still good when he does play.

I agree.
I think Ben Simmons is the perfect 5 to play with Zion. They are the two hardest guys in the league to stop from scoring when they ahve a full head of steam towards the basket, as well as Lebron still. With Simmons rebounding, and his ability to be elite at starting the fast break, he's your point guard leading the break, and once you get into the half court offense, he turns into the 5 and you go back with point Zion. Simmons is an elite rim runner off the PnR. you run that to death with Zion, having Trey, CJ, Hawkins sitting there waiting to knock down wide arse open 3's.

The best basketball we have played since Chris Paul was when B.I. was injured and Zion was the man. B.I. needs to take the back seat. If the coaches and GM don't see It they need to go. Willie Green calling B.I. the best basketball player in the world is concerning. Without considering the other flaws, B.I. plays slow. The best basketball player in the world can't play slow in today's age. The problem is we're not getting anything for a disgruntled injury plagued player who can't be the number one guy but thinks he is.

I really need to see this team minus Ingram with Zion running the show, because if last season’s November-December run with Zion as the leader was real, then we are fighting for championships.

I’m good with that. If he is dragging arse and has a IDGAF attitude, move the frick on.

Let’s hand this shite off to Trey and let CJ be the role model. At least it would be fun to watch them play and the ball move.
