Has there been a poll that I missed? I'm pretty sure almost every major poster on here agrees that Davis will be a Center someday. Now they debate about when that may be, but I've never heard anyone say he shouldn't play Center..

They wouldn't be trying to dump him...

False.

The Bulls are only shopping him to free up more money for offseason signings. That's why they plan to amnesty him if he isn't traded.

In that case, we should take a poll.

Davis plays more Center which he is being forced to do now

Well, Stiemsma, Ajinca, and Withey played 54 minutes combined against Sacramento. There were a few minutes of Withey/Ajinca, but Davis didn't play much center.

Against Memphis, they played 56 minutes combined. 38 against Golden State.

When you add Smith against the Rockets, the 4 played 61 minutes.

Davis is absolutely not playing more center now. In fact, he's playing quite a bit less at center now.

Why would Chicago let Deng go and take on Gordon's max? I don't see it happening.

Because the plan is to Amnesty Boozer and use the freed up money to go after a FA. So the option is pay Boozer $17 million to go away AND spend probably $8 - $10 million on a starter quality player ($27 million total), or trade for Gordon who "only" makes $14.9 million next year and might opt out the following. Also, you'd think SG would be a position of interest, but unless you want a very grizzled old vet like Vince Carter, there aren't any starter quality SG FAs that are likely to be available.

I'd like him to. I just don't think he'd excel there. Unless he puts on 15-20 pounds, he's more suited as a 4. But I'm old school, and I want my center on the block banging.

Take it back, he's clearly a great fit next to Noah.

This year is also the first year of Taj Gibson's big money contract (4/$32), so I assume they don't plan to replace Boozer with a high priced PF. Rose, Butler, Gibson, Noah. SG is the position without an established player. Targeting Gordon makes a lot of sense for Chicago.

Yeah, because he has one of the worst contracts in the league

No one is trading for boozer in hopes of making their team better by adding him to their rotation

And the guy was right.. Noah and Davis have polar opposite games

They saw no reason to be over the tax threshold *this season* for a guy unlikely to be there next year, given that they didn't seriously negotiate an extension with Deng, so they flipped him for picks and cap room.

Gordon, if they get him, would be guaranteed to be there next season and could be sold on staying another year if he'd be next to Derrick Rose.

I agree, I don't see him as a center at all. He's a great power forward, that was being used at center because he and Ryno were two of the teams best 3 players.

I'd take Boozer for Gordon. With Boozer banging down low with the bigs, Davis could stretch out his game a little more. He has a nice mid-range jumper but never gets to work on it.
I think the move would protect AD to a degree.

And I vote NO for AD playing center if anyone is polling.

Same here. I don't mind him playing Center in spurts, but it should never become his full time position, IMO.

Yeah, I'm sure the Australian International Business Times has the inside scoop.

I don't see your point. If we were to trade for Boozer it would shift Davis to center, all but full time with Ryan Anderson already on the roster. With the skill set AD has there is no reason to have him playing center full time.
