A player as erratic as Jrue offensively is basically a defensive specialist

This is just wrong. Averages mean something, if his averages arent bad, then he cant be more bad than he is good? That isnt how it works. You just choose to stick to the bad things more than good. A defensive specialist is Andre Roberson, Tony Allen, Pat Bev. If you think any of those types of guys are more gifted than Jrue on offense, you dont know basketball

They lost by 12 with good players 3 players doing nothing on offense. And they were in the game until a bad stretch in the 3rd. They performed better than most teams do against the bucks

Highly doubt Zion is going to play second fiddle to Beal for a couple seasons. He's already surpassed an elite scorer up as the go to guy after 7 games.

Yeah, we didn't play badly. We didn't play well enough to win, but that's a tall order against the Bucks. We just got beat by a better team tonight.

If Zion is our number one offensive player next season we are either seeing a major regression in BI or Zion is a more transformative player than Lebron was and in that case Beal will live with being option 2A.

Not sure the point of this argument?

Bev has destroyed Jrue a number of times. And I'd argue would be much much more valuable to this team than him. Not to mention his consistency. Im gonna ignore your strawman argument about who's more "gifted". It seems like you're being a little emotional about this. Stats lack context dude. There's no way around that. You can find almost any stat to support a point. Jrues missed about 10+ games this year? I could easily say he'd average less ppg based his history of erractic offense had he played in those games.

i apologize for name calling on here, to you and ellle

But I want to clarify I’m not making excuses. I agree, I think they are that talented as well. 3 of our starters didn’t show up. Lots of low IQ ball in this. Lonzo pulling up for three while the bucks had 3 guys back and the Pels had none. Jrue was terrible. We all agree with that. They also played a very very good team that has been good for a while and knows how to win and close out games. Pels will be a really good team soon because the foundation is there

The downside of Zion is all the national TV games. I don’t melt as hard when Joel Meyers calls the game.

Beverly also makes 50% of what Jrue makes and Jrue is likely going to get a pay increase after this contract to play through his 35th birthday,

Context like that cant be ignored in assessing the long-term commitment we should put toward Jrue.

One thing I never hear is an argument in favor of Jrue getting 30 million on his 35th birthday while trying to put together the optimal roster for a 24 year old Zion and 27 year old BI?

Again, I’m fine with moving Jrue if the right deal came along. But to even think for a second that PatBev is better is insane, more bang for ur buck, sure, but better? Insane.

You’re making logical points about salary and future fit etc., which i agree with, but i’ll defend his talent and production until there’s an actual dropoff aside from a few bad games

I'm not saying he can pass him in ppg. But tonight BI scored 32 and Zion 20(?) and Zion was clearly #1. Ingram who is still growing can already ball just as much as Beal. Cant see many ways Beal would come in and for multiple years be better than either of these guys.

That Beal wouldnt bring to this team what you think he would. I also dont like paying a steep price when after multiple attributes you have to say "if he feels like it" or "if he cares enough." Behibd Zion and Ingram you need a solid defender, not a guy who can play ok D when he wants to.

U could say it, sure. It would still be illogical. He has consistently shown that he keeps his stats level out, which shows that he is at least balancing his good nights, bad nights, and average nights, which.. big shocker.. every player in the league does

That’s like me saying: “Oh if Steph Curry sat out 5 games in 2015-2016, he might have ended the year shooting 12% from 3.”
You say that you can find stats to support everything, yet you just made up a theory to support your argument?
