Actually I'll give the dude a break. He is a good assistant coach. He never should be a head coach again tho....ever.

It must be humiliating to hear it so much he feels he has to acknowledge it.

I don’t even know how much I can fault him tonight. Make just 70 percent at the line and you’re right in the game. Get just 3 more defensive rebounds and you’re in it. That’s just players not doing fundamentals

He didn't say he disagreed with it.

Gentry is a nice guy, but he doesn't seem to have the motivation skills to get the guys to play tougher and harder consistently.

Making sure your players play fundamentally sound basketball falls on the shoulders of the coach

Id rather him be dumb but at least have some kind of energy. Frustrating seeing the other teams coach pacing the side and waving his hands and actually coaching and uncle al is just sitting there looking like hes about to fall asleep.

Running lineups with four guys 6’5 and under when your biggest issue of the night
is boxing out and rebounding might also be a contributing factor.

Gentry talks to the refs after every play. Just because he isn't super animated like some coaches does not mean he isn't bombarding refs after bad calls.

We can complain about rotational problems and in game coaching adjustments and plays, everything else is not bad imo

All of this. His lineups were dumb as hell. shite why didn’t melli play. At least he’s d give us more size in the paint to grab boards. This team lacks physicality, toughness, and athleticism in the paint outside of Zion

If the rotations were solid I’d say this would be valid, but no they were terrible.

We had E’Twaun become our playmaker for a three minute stretch because the rotation was terrible, which led to like four turnovers and no points in that span. Then we’re getting killed on glass and go to a four guard lineup instead of putting Melli in at the 4.

I think it’s a pretty big indictment on the coach when you add a guy like Zion and the team plays worse.

Much like our changes with defensive scheme this year, don’t be surprised when “players” (essentially Redick) come to Uncle Al with rotation advice.

Didn’t we have a lineup at one point without Zion/BI/Jrue? We have three guys on the team who can create for themselves and he takes them all out. And if BI has played like an all star all year, but is struggling to co exist with Zion, maybe stagger them so BI is almost always in the game when Zion isn’t?
