Gayle and Jeff Landry meeting with Adam Silver next week on SKC “major” renovations

From an article about them meeting with Goodel for a super bowl bid, they are also laying out the plans for the SKC renovation. Should hear more about those plans after the meeting I assume

The arena doesn’t need major renovations, it needs to be torn down. It was a $250m arena built on a $100m budget. The building is in complete disrepair. The HVAC system is shot because it was tied into the Dome to save money.
Build a brand new arena next to current SKC and develop a true sports and entertainment district.

Can’t pay for the Cathedral renovations and leave half your estate to the church if you’re expected to pay for $800m arena.

The roster and coaching staff are the things that needs “major” renovations
They can make the smoothie king into a diamond castle, but if the team still sucks, fans aren’t gonna go regardless of what renovations they make to the damn arena

I was looking at imagery on Google Earth the other day and I think they should tear down Champions garage and put a new arena there. Also demo the “tunnel” and have the new face of the arena face Champions Square directly. Then demo the current arena and put a new parking garage there. Just my idea.
