Loving the potential of Fears. We saw a lot of nice stuff from him tonight.

The game was worth it just to watch Fears.

Yeah they definitely have some work to do but for a preseason game that was pretty fun to watch.

Houston players coming over to congratulate Fears on a good game is pretty awesome.

Need to make Fears think it’s his birthday all the time like it’s Groundhog Day. Great to see him pop off in the 4th quarter!

Hawkins is arse. Always will be. Never draft a guy in the first round who can only shoot and is limited in size

Also when the hell is Queen gonna play

Don't think Queen will be cleared to play until after the season starts. He's practicing but he isn't allowed contact right now.

Considering you are only allowed 12 active players in a game, I wouldn't expect to see him anytime soon.

Your active 12 going into the season will probably be:
Starters: Poole, Herb, Trey, Zion, Looney
Bench: Fears, Jose, Hawkins, Bey, Missi,
Deep bench: Matkovic and Peavy

I think they'll play Hawkins until Peavy supplants him or when they find a trade to dump him.

Just watched the 4th Q highlights, Fears’ shot to win the game was actually crazy close from Lillard range. I know it’s preseason and the Rockets didn’t have their starters in but when it came to crunch time, Fears turned on a new gear. We need that.

He had a great 4th against the backups. In the first half against the starters, he had his moments when he drove the lane. He needs to stop falling in love with the 3 pointer though. I think once he slows down and plays the game he should, he will be better.

We really need the Fears and Queen picks to hit big to catch up w the powers of the West

We largely wasted our entire warchest and whiffed in the draft repeatedly on adding another bonafide star.

Missed Hali by a pick (could've easily traded for him in draft and traded for him after year 1). Didn't pick Maxey. Did a weird Steven Adams trade and Missed on Bane. Missed Sengun by a pick (could've easily traded for him in draft and after year 1). Missed on Jalen Williams and picked Dyson Daniels and then flipped Dyson Daniels for the wrong vet.

These 2 rooks are our last chance. Rooting for them both. Flawed, but fun prospects. Both seem like good kids overall.

I largely agree, ready to see Queen get some run. Fears is most important because of the position he plays, if he turns into an All-Star type guard, then your big 3 of elite PG, TM3, and Zion is enough to win playoff series. For now, Zion needs to put the team on his back, I think our season win total according to Vegas is disrespectful. I don’t see this team being bad.

I think that what we learned last night is that, at a minimum, Jeremiah Fears is our PG of the future.

I think its clear that we have a lot of potential with Fears, Bey, Peavy, and Queen in rotation. The reality is that Jose is a tough pairing with those guys and hawk isn't worth the roster spot. Once Murray comes back and Fears develops further then there really isn't much space for Jose.

I'd rather take those 2 guys and get 1 more specialist. Whether its defense/ scoring etccc. Even with Jose's tenacity he is still capped at 6' 180lbs. We would be better off with another pure shooter and/ or a bigger defensive guard.

If we want to win games this season then Jose will be important. Fears was not good in the first three quarters when the real NBA guys were playing. He had a stretch in the third quarter when he was on the court with both Zion and Trey and the game was still competitive. He had a bad shot where he did not make a pass and then back to back awful live ball turnovers allowing Houston to score six straight points. To his credit, he did play well in the fourth quarter against the guys that will not be on the court once the regular season starts. Jose will be relied on to help us win games this year. Once Fears develops and becomes a consistently positive player then one of Jose or Dejaunte will need to be moved to balance the roster.

Yes, I agree. I just simply believe we can do better. We still have $6mil from the tax, Hawk being traded is another $4.7, and Jose would then be another $4.5. I agree that Jose will probably get minutes and play fine plus he is a necessary extra player for this team but we can do better.

If we have a 13 man lineup and Jose is #13 then I'd rather use the $16mil between Jose/ Hawk/ MLE and get someone better for that role. That's just my honest opinion. Jose is fine but we can certainly upgrade from him, both can be true.

Even if we keep Jose then we would have about $11mil in the NTMLE to take back if we trade Hawk for nothing. At a minimum do that and get another sharpshooter. But again if only (1) of Jose/ Hawk will end up with minutes then trade them both and get someone better than both.
