The Hornets were brought down financially by having to pay nearly $10 million per year on Shinn's debt. Without that debt load they would have been profitable in playoff years and about break even in non playoff years. That is before they changed their marketing strategy to the locally geared I'm In campaign which has lead to significant increases in ticket sales and corporate sponsorships. On top of that the new CBA is supposed to cut payroll by an average of $10 million per team AND there will be increased revenue sharing for failing teams AND the new 2012 cable contract that is being negotiated is expected to double if not triple the current $8-$10 million per year the team is getting.
So basically a franchise that previously was set up to break even or lose a little money in down years and make money in up years now should make at least a little money all the time and gobs of money when they are good. People always like to say opinions can't be wrong but that is just not true. Your opinion is wrong because it completely ignores the facts.

Yes, Benson acts in strange ways sometimes. I don't every really trust him...lol.
But I will put that aside for now until he gives a reason to not trust him again.

This is so incredibly stupid. Danfranz, is in desperate need of a tin foil hat.
The NBA is selling the franchise to return money to the other owners. Benson is the purchasor because he made the best offer. He made the best offer because he will be able to capitalize on all his current exposure in that area.
