He's gotta be at least 25lbs lighter than now.
You’re being nice and I’m being nice saying it’s 40lbs. With a frame that large, you can hide 20-30lbs pretty easily. Dude’s weight could fluctuate 10-15lbs in a day.

regarding the dunks, when is the last time Zion drove the lane and there weren't 3 guys waiting for him?

I believe it. I'm only 190 but i can vary 5 lbs on a given day. When you're almost 300, I believe 10-15 is possible.
Dude gained 50 lbs in like a week in the bubble.

Pretty much has been the case since his midway through the SVG season, which is all the more worrisome that Zion in the time since hasn't tried to adapt his offense and add something to it besides the drive and finish with the left.
If he could just show that he could just expand his scoring range out enough to where teams can't leave him open outside the paint, he wouldn't be battering into 3/4 guys under the basket night in and night out.

Ok lets relax now. Yes his rebounding still sucked last night but for 3 and half quarters the best team in the league could not stop him getting to the rim. I agree hes not the same player but making him out to be Tractor Traylor is a bit much lol
Then the game slowed down, defenses squeezed, and he disappeared as they lost the game.
Also, he was a negative on +/- in all but the 1st quarter.
By quarter:
+11
-2
-8
-8
For as much shite as he's catching today, BI went:
+11
+1
-4
-6

This I agree with but the dude since SVG hasn’t played a full season to even adapt his game. Again due to his own conditioning and injury issues.

A long time. Primarily because he hasn’t developed his offensive game in 5 years. What pisses me off more his lack of explosiveness is his inability to defend and rebound. He’s a one trick pony.

One can argue that Zion clogs the lane for everyone else because there is no reason to guard him beyond 8 feet.

But even then, we're not even seeing any semblance of him trying to expand his offense. It's the same way I feel about those saying Dyson can still improve on offense because he's only 20. Usually there's a gradual build to those progressions and we're just not seeing that.
In the case of Zion, it's worrisome because it either means A) The the coaching staff and FO don't realize the issue and aren't working with Zion to expand his offense or B) The staff is working with Zion to expand it but he simply can't do it.
Either way, it doesn't bode well.

The saddest part of that video was a Lonzo and Jrue backcourt. Man that should have been killer. Zion gets hurt and we brought in an injured PF to play center (not trying to hate on Favors, could have worked ok).
PS- people were saying Zion was overweight leading into that preseason if you can believe that.

You left off c) Zion doesn't put in enough time.

Probably falls under option B honestly.

I mean, this just isn’t true. Zion does a good deal of work on his game, and the biggest thing I’ve noticed as this season has progressed is his willingness to go with a floater instead of the backboard. He of course has gotten better on defense, rotations and staying down, it’s generally his weight and effort that wanes there.
He’s not going to be a three point shooter, nor do we want him to be.

Hella strawman baw. No one mentioned anything about him shooting 3's.

This thread has made me think some of y’all just haven’t watched the Pelicans at all this year
Like yea Zion may be a bit heavier than he was then but saying he doesn’t have NEAR that explosiveness is just crazy

I've watched damn near every minute of every game. Zion is way less explosive now than he was in either of those videos. Nobody is saying he can't dunk anymore, but he's not looking down at the rim anymore.

Man watching that zion and current zion and it looks like we got a bait and switch after the draft with a fatter, less athletic version

Ive watched every game. His explosiveness is not the same and not nearly as often as it was before. This could be due to age, conditioning, injuries, etc. He has it in spurts but its not as often. There is a difference.
