He can't even stay in front of Brogdon. Neither can Trey.

Dyson was always our best on ball defender. Herb is more helpside passing lane steal gambler.

Dyson had much better feet and discipline

Wildest shite in the world we couldn't figure how to get them on the court at the same time.

And before people say they suck offensively, tell me how the frick is Houston making it work? Because vanvleet, Thompson, and green can't shoot worth a shite and it's working.

Cause Willie Green isn’t their coach

I'm not being lazy, I just don't know how to do this:

can someone check to see if we ever ran a CJ/DD/Herb/BI or Trey/Zion lineup last season (and how well it performed)? The rebounding would be pretty shitty, but there's enough defense with DD/Herb sticking to the best (non center) offensive opponents, there's 2 or 3 good shooters, and everyone can handle the ball and competently run the offense (except for Trey if he's in, BI can doe).

I'm an idiot, but either of those two lineups are pretty interesting to me. The only problem is that when anyone besides Daniels is initiating in the half court, DD is uselessly standing around.

ETA: Got bored and discovered/dove into NBA.com's stats page.

CJ/Herb/DD/Trey/Zion played 30 total minutes together last season and were +17 in that time.

BI/Herb/DD/Trey/Zion (which is a lineup I didn't think about, just stumbled upon) played 5 minutes together and was +2.

CJ/Herb/DD/BI/Zion played 6 minutes and was -6.

So my two interesting lineups were +11 in 36 minutes. Too bad we couldn't have seen a larger sample.

Are you really comparing Vanvleet and Green's offense to Daniels and Herb?

Plus...Dyson is averaging 13 PPG to Herb's 11, shooting better from the 3-pt line than Herb, more steals, more blocked shots

I suggest we try and trade Herb for Dyson...STRAIGHT UP...I doubt the Hawks will go for it but it's worth a try.

If you put daniels/herb on the court with scorers like Cj, zion, and Ingram/murphy it offsets.

Let's not act as if green/vanvleet and their combined 33ppg on sub 40 fg% and 32% 3pt shooting is the reason they're winning games.

Let's not act like Herb/Daniels could create anywhere near the offense Vanvleet and Green could.

Dyson looked immediately like one of the best defenders in the league. Herb has always made some nice defensive plays, but Dyson is just different. He’s a lock down defender 100% of the time. I absolutely hated it when we gave him up.

Damn, you were the biggest Herb guy on here.

I said all offseason we would regret trading DD. Said over and over we shoujd have been concentrating on developing other parts of his game. Woukd have been the perfect year for it since we not going anywhere.

That trade is looking like a disaster now and hopefully is the last nail in the coffin for Griff.

People need to get over it.

Murray has an all-star selection and was a 2nd team All-NBA defense selection.

Jones has was a first team All-NBA defense selection.

The guys are very good, they are one solid cost controlled contracts, and they just need a decent coach.

Dyson Daniels was a good prospect, but he was buried on the depth chart. He is not as good as Murray right now. Daniels looks fantastic on defense, but we would not have developed him offensively.

Sorry...just growing weary of the sad state the Pels currently find themselves. Rest assured,, this was just a poor attempt at humor by me. I still think Herb is the "best" player on the Pels.

IF...the Pels put EVERY player on their roster on their "looking to trade" list, I think Herb would be the first player that just about ANY team would come after...assuming we are talking about teams that are seriously trying be contend come playoff time.
