Is that a good or bad thing?

Multiple time All star, multiple all NBA 2nd team, and NBA champion? Not to mention a 17+ year NBA career. That's a hell of a resume.

He was a rookie. I am not saying he is going to be the DPOY, but let the kid get a couple of seasons and see where he is at. AD always says during the game the hardest part for rookies to learn is defense

Not sure what this has to do in relation to the discussion of Queen's absolute peak being a good role player.

I didn't say he'll be a superstar or I'd even bet on it. But his peak is definitely higher than a high end role player.

competent or elite defenders are almost always freak athletes though. Queen is not

If 2025 is re-drafted, Queen probably goes around 8, which means the final cost for him is right on the button.

You left out the #5 pick tho, which is kinda a big deal….

People make it sound like he was khaman maluach... (someone many of us wanted).

Queen showed a lot of offensive promise, I see the appeal. I also see the fear in how bad defensively he is. Truly, he is potentially an alperen sengun clone. Their per 100 and per 36 numbers as rookies were identical. If he progresses, that's all you want at this point.

I always liked the comp of Queen and Naz Reid. They are very similar body wise, play the 4/5, probably best as a high end back-up/6th man. Reid is a much better athlete and shooter. But those are things that Queen can dramatically improve. I'm cool with him coming off the bench the next two years as he steadily improves.. he's going to be in the league a long time..
