Obviously doesn't mention him by name and these are similar to comments he made right after the season, but...

Yeah, I'm hard on CJ for his gameplay, but he's 100 percent a professional and without him this team is even more arse clownish.

CJ plays like a goomba sometimes but damn if he dont speak the truth.

Our star players sound a lot like that Jimmy Butler in Minnesota situation

That could be multiple players he's talking about, in addition to Zion, which is even worse.

He might as well have said zion by name. CJ seems pissed

He’s saying what needs to be said. But it bothers me that he’s pointing out all the things he does the right way. Tell me some stuff YOU need to improve on CJ. Like not dribbling the air out of the ball, not chucking up shots with your injuries, getting 25 the ball

When he started talking about eating right and staying in shape you know he was talking about just zion. You never have to worry about BI eating too much or getting out of shape

Plot twist, Trey Murphy III is the one that takes this information to heart and becomes a superstar and Face of the franchise.

I've gone back and forth on CJ's game. I'm at the point that I ain't mad at him. Dude played well this year with some down games and played through injury for a large part of the year.

CJ is a great player to have as a leader on this team right now. Players look up to him and maybe, just maybe he can get through to some of these guys on how important conditioning is along with certain aspects of a routine. I'd be pissed too especially looking back at them laughing at him stretching. Chaps my arse!

He also played as a 1st or 2nd option all year when thats not what we brought him here to do

He shot reasonably well considering the injuries. The main issue was the role he was pressed into with BI and Zion and Jose missing so many games.

He and JV were also a bad mix defensively.

I said that in another thread and agree 1000%. He’s going to be the best player on this team. Zion will eventually eat him self to death and BI will play second fiddle to Trey.

If CJ plays the exact same way, injuries and all, and the other guys around him actually do the things he's talking about in this clip, we are a 50+ win team and still playing basketball right now with home court advantage. Stuff like this is why the trade CJ talk is nonsense. He's a much needed veteran presence off the court while also being extremely skilled and an important piece of the offense on the court. You simply aren't going to find a trade where you're going to get equal or better value. Hopefully sitting at home watching everyone else play is enough of a wake up call to get these guys to actually listen to him this offseason.

I feel like Trey was already following CJ's advice. There was one game I remember he was supposed to be out with a "toe" and miraculously played and did well. Never heard about it again.

Seriously. We look like clowns and we have the president of the players association on our team. Imagine how must worse this locker room would look without guys like him

That's not leadership to call out your teammates on a podcast. Playing injured is about yourself not the team.
Moses Malone did not call Barkley fat and lazy in the media. Read about Malone's approach to understand leadership.
Congrats to CJ for managing his time among basketball, winery, union, espn and family.

If he also did it in private then it is leadership.

CJ didn’t call Zion fat and lazy so not really sure what your point is.

This take brought to you by the guy who said Kira or Dyson could be CJ’s replacement.
