Including me, but today the pick by the Pels will be without a doubt Duren. Duren is the pick if available. The Pels cannot pass on this 18-19 year old talent. Of all the centers in the league after seeing them live my perfect center is Bam Adebayo. A center that can guard one through five, and run the floor. Bam is stud, and Duren has the same body frame, and he can move. Drafting Duren will set up the Pels for years to come. Watch his film, and I think you will agree. He plays with passion on defense, and he has handles, and developing a soft touch. He's got to be the pick. Find a shooter in free agency.

Bam has lightyears more skill than Duren. Duren is just a big athletic body

Agreed, Bam has developed offensive skills sine his rookie year. He's always been great on defense.

I am not sold Duren is better than Mark Williams if you want a Center but neither should be top 10 in this draft.

If they pick Duren over Williams, it would be an absolute tragedy.

Mark Williams measured at 7’2” tall. That’s insane for a guy that can move the way he does.

He should be the pick regardless.

But I understand the arguments for a player like Dyson Daniels or a potential fall by Ivey/Murray/Sharpe or even Mathurin.

But if Kira Lewis ends up being who you thought he was..and you have CJ, BI, Trey, Herb, AND Zion..a young and talented, better version of Clint Capella would be a solid addition.

Just sayin..

Bam got destroyed by Vagina AD.

And Duren isn’t much like him today anyway.

I’ll watch some more tape though. Maybe I missed something bc it seems like there is a decent sized Duren contingent on here.

Bam had offensive skill in college. He is light years ahead of Duren coming out of college. Duren definitely looks the part though. If we draft a center it should be Williams

I agree with Williams>Duren, but I'd rather not take a center in the lottery either way.

I'm convinced Williams>Duren, and trade down if your top shooter, playmaker is not there. This is why this off season has kept our interest, and keeping the fan base excited. Fun stuff !!

You take a high IQ, multi faceted guy like Daniels and you don't look back

Just the gravity of Zion will massively improve the quality of everyone's looks

Duren moves well, but not nearly as well as Bam.

The only guy at that size that rivals Bam is JJJ.

Bam was known to be skilled offensively coming out of high school, but he’s another in the long line of players that weren’t allowed/able to show off their whole skill set at Kentucky.

Everyone doesn’t just want a shooter. A shooter is our biggest need tho. Our 2nd biggest need would be a defensive player in any position. Our 3rd need is a backup C. Neither Williams or Duren have the combined offensive/ defensive skill sets to be our pick at #8. There are atleast 10 guys that are a better fit offensively and defensively > drafting a backup C.

We aren’t spending a lotto pick or assets on a C until we know how Zion, Val, and Hayes progress.

Why on earth do we need a big that has zero offensive game, can't shoot FT's, and was a fouling machine in college?

Duren at his best might be able to become Clint Capella, but a guy like that is only as good as the PG he plays with.

I would be extremely irritated if we picked Duren, even if we traded down in the draft. I mean look at what Andre Drummond has become, and he's been the most dominant rebounder in the game since he entered the league.

and who is this?

who we think he can be is Darren Collison, a career backup PG.

Continuing to add high level defenders to this roster is far and away our biggest need. We were really good offensively post CJ trade. But to be a serious contender we need more defense, not more offense.

there's a fine line inbetween I'd say.

having elite defense works well (miami & dallas for example), but you need to be able to attack teams at all 3 levels. guys gotta be able to hit open 3s.
